There was a time in society when there were very few cars and almost no accidents on the roads. Now, accidents are like a regular event and it doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned veteran driver or a beginner. Today driving on the road is almost like a gamble where one is not sure what to expect at the present second or the next. It is certainly not as easy as it once was and I guess it may have to do with the massive amount of vehicles include the different personalities that each individual possess.
The Annual Global Road Crash Statistics state that nearly 1.3 million people dies in road accident each year, which is about 3,287 deaths each day include 20-50 million are extremely hurt or disabled. Over half the deaths occur are between the ages of 15-44. Road death accounts for 2.2% traffic crash death globally and ranks as the 9th leading cause and it is the second leading cause of death worldwide in the age group of 5 – 14 and main leading cause for those aged 14-29. Those under 25 years age group account for 400,000 deaths on the road which is actually 1,000 per day. If society does not wise up and practice proper driving standard, then traffic accident will become the fifth leading death rate by 2030.
There are individuals who need to be taught how to drive while it seems to come relatively naturally to others, however, it is important that one knows the Driver’s Guide, which includes the Roads, Traffic Light Signals, Road Signs, Police Signals, Emergency Signals (Ambulance or Wrecker Truck, etc.) include the ability to tell left from right plus good eye sight at 20/20 vision.
Four-wheeled Transportations are composed of Motor Cars, Bus, Trucks, Vans, Lorry, Jeeps etc., Vehicles are considered an expensive toy for Society and in some countries it is also considered the sweetheart for many men who love to spend a relatively larger sum of money on the maintenance and care for their cars than they do to their female counterparts or families. Cars are highly in demand and are considered one of the easiest methods of transportation for man; however, they come with a relatively high price due to the massive amount of death that take place from the usages. However, cars have made life easier in most case with the ease of access to most places, however, congestion remain a vexing issue in most countries of the world due to the delay and slowness, when time and speed are vital for the running of the economies and Society of the world.
In some countries of the world such as those former British Colonies (e.g., Malaysia, India, Singapore, Australia, Japan, the UK), they drive on the left side of the road and not the right like they do in the United states, Latin American countries include European. When you are in any of these former British Colonies, one should focus on the left side and then, go left at all times, it will be relatively easy if one just continues to think left and then left again.
Meanwhile, in the European, Latin American or any countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road or vice versa as certain people think. One should focus on going right at all times, and just go right young man. Keep in mind that the slow lane is on the right and the fast lane is the left lane and it is just the opposite of driving on the left. Just focus on going right with the mindset of staying right at all times.
The majority of Roads are thoroughfare or route that has been paved and improved in order to provide a smooth and comfortable journey for different vehicles of various models, shapes, and sizes. However, there are different types of roads and they are unpaved, the smooth paved road, the potholed roads, and the rocky roads. Some lead in the mountains and to the countryside while other head toward the city, towns, and communities. There are different roads for different thoroughfare or routes, either toward the North, South, East, or West. Private roads are roads that the general public is not allowed to drive or venture upon unless they have special permission, plus there are public roads where the majority of citizens can drive where ever they please with their vehicles.
Safety is very important to all those who venture in a vehicle at all times. To be on the safe side, one should never allow children to jump up, play or crawl around in the vehicle when it is on the way to any destination. All minor should be seated and buckled up. Do not drive when you are tired because tiredness could enable you to fall asleep at the wheels and when you open your eyes again you may be standing in the presence of God above. Avoid the consumption of strong drink such as alcohol when driving, plus the smoking of marijuana because such things can serve as a distraction for the mind and your concentration won’t be good. Cell Phones serves as another form of big distraction while driving, therefore, the usage should be avoided at all cost or best stop and park by the side of the road and conduct the phone conversation until you are finished then back to driving. Take extra precaution when changing lane and always put on the signal before the action takes place by never changing lane too quickly or cutting off someone in the process, or it will be a sorry day for you.
To all drivers, I wish you all a safe journey toward your destination, wherever in the world you may be while driving and be safe at all times.
Cheers!
