Bitter Melon

If you have diabetes, you have taken the road towards insulin regulation. The journey could be difficult and confusing. You may feel useless as your confidence and self-esteem go down. But if armed with the right information, it could be a journey towards discovering a better you. That is why you should consider adding bitter melon to your diet, to control diabetes type 2.

What is Bitter melon?

This plant is used by the Chinese as both food and medication. The herb is part of the larger melon family which includes bitter cucumber and bitter apple. The fruit grows on a vine and it color ranges from creamy white to dark green. You can easily know it from its very pronounced bumps. It has a bitter taste, relieves tiredness and reduces heat in the body. Studies have shown that these properties in bitter melon are very powerful in treating diabetes.

What does it do?

With diabetes type 2, your body is unable to convert sugar into energy. This is as a result of inadequate insulin. If you engage in exercise, it helps to transport glucose to the surface of the cell. Bitter melon works in a similar way. Its ingredients help in lowering glucose levels in the body. It also helps to control obesity which is common in diabetic patients.

How to go about it

Bitter melon comes in different forms. As a tablet, take one with meals or any other time that you feel you need it. It can also be taken as tea, fresh juice or soup.

As western medicine gets complicated by the day, it is only wise that you should use that which for centuries has brought great success. The best thing about bitter melon is that it has no known side effects. Only that it is very bitter as the name suggests. Its effectiveness is well-known and it is time that you joined the club of the success stories. Bitter melon is bitter, but not as bitter as the feeling you have for not taking it while it helped others with the same condition.

Consult the doctor

The journey towards your diabetes control starts from the mind. You got to have a positive attitude towards restoration. Secondly, you must search for the right information about products known to control diabetes. As good as any product is, please consult your doctor before you take it. Confirm that it is safe for you and could not cause adverse reactions.
