Blood sugar levels lowered in the rabbits within the first two hours of administration of this herb. Another research conducted in 2010 showed that it controlled blood sugar levels better than some prescription drugs.
The spice also helps to inhibit Advanced Glycation End (AGE) product formation, which in diabetics causes blood vessel damage.
