Diabetes could be caused by various factors like: overweight, lack of physical exercise, stress, high sugar intake and genetic factors. Type 1 and Type II diabetes, gestational diabetes and diabetes insipidus are examples of the common diabetic conditions that people face on daily basis. They can lead to other disorders if not treated at an early stage, or when medication and instructions are not followed as required.
The following conditions may result:
- Heart and eyes diseases
- Nerves disorder
- Damaged blood cells
- Blood circulation problems
- Stroke
- Blindness and many other infections
Type I is known as an insulin dependent disorder. This is because the pancreas does not produce adequate insulin to cater for the sugar produced in the body. The remedy to this condition is making sure you do plenty of exercises to keep you in a good shape and increase blood circulation, daily aspirin intake, cholesterol regulation, taking proper and balanced diet.
A patient can also take insulin shots to help improve its level in the body. Possible symptoms are like fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headaches, urinating more often, feeling thirsty, skin infections, dry mouth and throat.
The type II is commonly a non insulin dependent. In this case the pancreas produces enough insulin but due to other complications, the insulin is not well used in the body.
This disorder could be controlled by:
- Daily insulin intake
- Daily physical exercise
- Taking prescribed diabetic medicine
- Taking a healthy diet
Type 2 has almost the same symptoms as the type I. Frequent urination, headaches, nausea, increased thirst due to dehydration of body cells, blurred vision, increased appetite, tiredness and weight loss are some of the basic symptoms we need to watch out for..
When glucose increases in our blood we risk getting any of the above symptoms. This is a disease that we can control in a situation where it is not genetically acquired. A large population of people ignore it at the early stages until when signs begin to show. This is wrong as the more it develops the more it gets out of hand. It does not favor age,old or young.
We should learn to live healthy lives to avoid such diseases from attacking us.The two diabetic disorders are common in children too. They get it at that early stage and grow up with it.Those whose condition is given attention, live longer compared to those whose parents took long for the disease to take root.
