Cancer, Hormones, Smoking – Are they Related

Cancer, rBGH, Smoking – Are they Related...

Are these three words or symbols synonymous, can they be used together, is there a relationship between them? Cancer and smoking linked together for years, can cancer and rBGH be the same? Is there a correlation between the three?

A cure for cancer requires a proof of cause, this will enable researchers to create a cure. There are many factors that aid its development in certain people, but no single item has been proven to cause cancer, so how can we blame a single entity? Genetics has proven that certain genes passed from parent to child can result in that child developing cancer, but it is not a forgone conclusion that the issue will suffer the disease.

Tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, pipe smoking and even the partaking of snuff have links to certain cancers. Diet and physical activity, sun and UV exposure also proven as being linked to the disease but not as the cause. Two people can sit beside each other on the beach all day and have different reactions to the sunburn received. One can develop a skin cancer and the other not. Why is this? Because no two are alike and so many personal factors can come into play.

Some environmental issues can cause cancer to develop, chemicals, pollution, and even some medical tests can actually increase the risks of developing the disease. But these factors mentioned can only be blamed for increasing the risk of developing the disease, not being the cause. So can we blame Monsanto's rBGH for causing cancer? No, but we can blame them for increasing the risk of developing the disease? Manipulating plant genes is no different from messing with our own genes, so can we blame this for increasing the risk of developing cancer? I think we can, and if they are so sure it does not increase the risk, why are they so against their products, resulting from their development, not carrying a notice on the containers?

The world went to war against the tobacco industry, blaming it for the increase of cancer, but it hasn't caused cancer. I agree with the increase of risk to the partakers and the possible damage to bystanders and children, but it has not been proven to cause cancer. Public demand won the day and now cigarette packets, adorned with warnings and many other pictures expound the fact that it is dangerous to smoke. The products have not been banned and those wishing to smoke may, with certain restrictions of area for smoking.

Now I am not expounding the fact that Monsanto products cause cancer, but they certainly increase the risk of developing the disease. Why then is there such opposition, by the company, to have the fact the GM products are present in certain products? Or for that matter why can the milk from cows treated with rBGH not have it stated on their containers? It is well noted by medical professionals that an increase of certain hormones in products, increases the risk of cancer in certain people. Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, has adverse effects on grown-ups, a well researched fact, rBGH based on this hormone will have the same adverse effect.

Why is it that some woman, after suffering from breast cancer, put on hormone block treatment? Because higher levels of estrogen can cause the disease to return and develop again, and what is the biggest producer of estrogen? The ovaries, so it stands to reason that if the ovaries removed, then she is safe. No, according to my wife's Oncologist, certain other organs also produce estrogen in very small quantities, but estrogen is a hormone that is ingestible from certain other sources, and it is for this reason the block taken.

It stands to reason then that the intake of IGF-1 being dangerous to adults, needs avoiding by certain people susceptible to cancer. Why then should a fact, that a cow been injected with a synthetic hormone, based on IGF-1, not be made to state that fact on the container? For that matter, why is the producer so against it? My assumption is because they know their product is not safe.

Playing “God” in messing with natural gene pools and natural hormone levels in animals is going to have repercussions in the future if not already. The consumers right of choice is definitely being opposed by the producer, and this makes me wonder what they know that we don't. It smells of corruption and cover up, it stinks so bad that it has now millions in opposition, and if the company was to go by their policy statement, they would be conversing with the people over their concerns. They are not, and that speaks volumes to me, a concerned citizen that has to go, not by choice, but by necessity, to places where cancer sufferers are receiving treatment with poisons to try to extend and save their lives.

The time is now to stand up and be counted, to demand the right of choice, to have the labels attached to products that use these GM products and hormone injected milk products.

The thing is that now everything is changed compared to the past. First of all the environment and the earth. We can not control what we breath but we can not either control what we eat even if we grow vegetables and fruits ourselves. Why? Because we simply can not control the soil, which is full of God only knows what, where all plants, vegetables and fruits grow! So, no wonder why our grandparents lived to be so old and healthy...

That's true Maria but if one grows your own veggies you can control the soils, God provided a good growing medium as well as the micro-organisms to cleanse them.. The problem is naturally, one is unaware if the seed is GM seed. The air I agree with, is uncontrollable by us, but if we could only get control of our governments we could have them bring stricter laws about pollution, and that would improve the life blood of our very existence.. To control the money grabbers and enriches would bring us back down from hell, which we now find ourselves in.. The world will take revenge at sometime and then we'll return to healthy living...

Well-defended points, Rob. I'm always into raising my own organic fruits and vegetables. You have some interesting views about cause of cancer. Makes me wonder because my great grandma (mother of my grandpa on the father side) whom I have the chance to meet when I was a little boy, was a tobacco smoker. In fact, I had never seen her without tobacco. But she lived up to 101 years old. When she was 97 she could still open the coconut. Amazing!

Lemuel this is the point Both my Grand parents smoke up until they passed on, with no sign of cancer... no one in our family has had cancer... so genes seem right but the same is on my wife's side of the family, yet she has cancer...? who knows...

I think cancer is caused by a barrage of pollutants, like too many pebbles hitting the window. The culprits are in our food, in our water, in the air, and how we think. So, I think we need to eliminate or avoid as many stresses as possible. Emotional stress is a big factor in cancer. Heredity often has nothing to do with it. Seems to be very complex. rBGH should be right on the label, and it isn't in the US. Estrogens can also come from plastic products. It leaches out of certain plastics into water or food. Even if you don't drink milk, or buy organic, what's in the commercial ice cream and cheese? Knowledge is golden. Even so, how do you keep up with it in practice, when you visit the grocery store? I've come to the conclusion that one has to combat his environment mainly with his own thinking, and transform all the chemicals mentally. Thanks Rob, for your ongoing research into Monsanto.

Joan it's actually almost impossible to avoid all the possible agents that can aid in the development of cancer and like you say mental issues can also effectively create it... How to battle it, God only knows, all I asks is that whats in the product you're purchasing let the truth be known of whats in it.. That way we can choose... Linda has had all the cancer, no one in her family has had it, she has never smoked, hardly takes a wine, and eats so healthily... now what does that tell you... she's too good, needs to eat all the wrong things, drink, smoke and maybe she won't get anymore... lol... it is a bit of a mystery that I would love to have an answer for....

As you say Rob, if they had nothing to hide they would disclose the facts and let people choose.

Exactly Buddy, this is what I say, their policy expounds this very fact so let it out and let the public decide... any item placed on the market for sale is a personal choice if you purchase or not, why not with this as well... they are scared that it will fail on personal choice...

Great questions Rob, I think we have been poisoned for many years. I agree it's time to stand up and be counted.

Thanks Dear, something that still astounds me is that smoking was powered by public opinion yet this rBGH is not receiving the same reaction at the moment, but I think its coming...

I've always suspected that cancer may be a genetic or heredity thing Rob.

Reply

Oh that it is you can pass a gene on but it does not mean the issue will get it... this is the problem no one knows why it kicks in with some and not others... and then you get my wife no one in her family history has ever had cancer... now how the hairy did she get it?

That, my friend, is a very good question.

Cancer is just the top of the tree... I think there are many other heath problems caused by this as well, Rob. Our bodies are very resilient and finely tuned machines but they are also not infallible if they aren't fed the right fuel.

Reply

Correct Heather but at present I'm trying to get my head arround just cancer and this rBGH hormone, I have already found reputed proof that it brings on an earlier puberty in both male and female, amid so many other things. I can see why Australia and New Zealand banned the product because they have brains, here it's acceptable. Now I'm doing my best to find out who is using it... It can still transfer through Ice Cream, Cheese, Yougart, and any other product that uses milk... Gonna get my stomping boots on ..... if its added to chocolate... that's it then I'm committing suicide...

How about Canada?? Nice to feel 'safe' here but my experience with traveling has been that labelling isn't near as thorough over there. It concerns me greatly as I often refer to my list of additives when I'm in the supermarket so I can avoid the worst for my kids. I might just have to rely more on 'organic', intuition and a good dose of bio feedback when I'm in Canada. How can we protect our kids in this crazy world?!

Canada has also banned the use of the product so you should be alright....

Good info Rob....agree with you on about everything...since the RDA approved the rBGH then it's likely hard to get them to resend the approval which was tried by petition several years ago...the RDA reaffirmed their position of approval...but their approval was mostly based on information submitted by Monsanto...??...that don't seem exactly proper... I think the hormone was first approved in the US in the early 90's and likely took several years to be widely used. I would be concerned about infants and very young children who have been raised on the stuff by unknowing parents....we do buy organic milk but will have to look if the carton actually states that no rBGH is used by those dairy farmers..

This is my problem Kevin this was approved nearly 20 years ago by a board that was almost all ex Monsanto employees, cancer has increased enormously over the last 20 years, why? who knows, but if these people are so sure of their products why are they fighting so hard to keep that fact from the public?
