Low Testosterone Symptoms For Men

Commercials in the U.S. are now showing males taking AndroGel for testosterone replacement therapy. But what exactly are low testosterone symptoms for men?

How do you know if you are suffering with 'Low T'?

We won't chase the obvious symptoms. If you have noticed a reduced libido, that might be a sign that your testosterone values are going south. However, adrenal gland dysfunction can also wreak havoc with libido. So you can't just assume that loss of libido is definitely due to 'Low T'.

Other symptoms that might warrant further investigation might include:

  • Decreased Energy Levels
  • Decreased Muscle Strength
  • Decreased Sports Performance
  • Lack of interest in friendships and previously enjoyable activities

Diseases that impair the body's ability to make and/or utilize testosterone would include:

  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Obesity

Clinically, I am more concerned with the cardiac aspect of low testosterone than any other aspect.

The media does a great job of showing the virility issues associated with 'Low T' but almost always fails to mention the cardiac aspect. Though I don't want to minimize what Low T does to the psyche of the male patient suffering, you won't die due to lack of virility, but poor cardiac function can certainly lead to death.

Please listen closely the next time an erectile dysfunction commercial comes on the air. All ED (Viagra, etc)commercials have the statement 'take only if you are healthy enough for sexual intercourse'. That statement is not put in there lightly. Our body will do what ever it takes to protect us and save us from harm. If erectile dysfunction is a problem, it is because there is a bigger problem some where else. In nearly all cases, the body is saying, 'I don't have adequate blood supply to keep the heart beating in a healthy way, so I am going to prevent blood supply from going down south to save my heart'.

I wish, just for once, that I could get away from the whole 'balance' talk, but I can't. If you have Low T, in addition to diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, the first step is to correct the conditions that caused those diseases.

Just because there's a pill for every ill doesn't mean taking those pills is fixing what's broke.

Just because you are able to take testosterone replacement therapy, doesn't diminish the dangerous conditions that exist with high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity.

In all cases, we have to get back to the basics. Does the body have the foundational building blocks necessary for all cellular function? If the answer is NO, why is that? Something is wrong in the system and it has to be identified and corrected.....not just sedated. (When you give diabetic medicine to a Type 2 diabetic, with NO talk on diet and lifestyle changes, you are only sedating the disease, not fixing it. The same can be said for high blood pressure medicine, high cholesterol medicine, ED medicine, etc.)

When our body give us symptoms of disease, let's listen, and figure out what it's trying to say, instead of sedating the symptoms.

Stephen, low T is a real problem and a big problem. As I stated in the article, low T is a significant cardiac risk. Before any treatment strategies can be put into place, it's important to determine what led to the low T values in the first place. And don't get me started on the insurance issues. I could write articles that would make you sick to your stomach. Thank you for reading my articles.
