Signs of Kidney Failure - The Top 10 Signs of Kidney Failure

Kidney failure is the end stage of a renal disorder that is attributed by completely stopping the kidney's functions. I know that this can be a scary time for some but if you can catch the signs of kidney failure before they become life threatening there might be a chance to treat it or even reverse your kidney disease. Once a person as gotten to the end stages of kidney failure there is nothing that can be done so it is vitally important that if you start seeing signs of kidney failure that you seek medical treatment immediately.

These are the top 10 signs of kidney failure, so keep an eye out for them.

1. Edema - At first this is just bloating of your feet and maybe your legs. But eventually it will happen through your whole body. This happens when your kidney increases its water retention instead of letting water pass through your body.

2. Anemia - One of the primary functions of your kidney is to regulate the production of red blood cells in your body, but as your kidney worsens your red blood cells will start to decrease.

3. Hematuria - This means that you find blood clots in your urine stream.

4. Bloody stools - You may find blood in your stool and is a sign of damage of your kidney disease.

5. Sudden behavioral changes - Sufferers of kidney failure are more inclined to have mood swings, delusions, hallucinations, and a higher state of confusion.

6. Extreme flank pain - This is an extremely painful feeling you may have in one flank of your body, the flank is on the side of your body in between your pelvis or hip and reaches the last rid. This pain can travel down to your lower abdomen, testicles, or groin.

7. Decrease in your urination - a decrease in the amount of urination might be something else but a decrease in being able to urinate is one of the signs of kidney failure.

8. Shortness in breath - This can be caused by very high blood pressure.

9. Seizures - If your kidneys are bad enough they can cause seizures or shaking involuntarily of a part of your body or even your whole body.

10. Foul urine smell - sweet and acrid smelling urine are also signs.

If you start to see signs of kidney failure then please see a doctor right away. Even if it is not kidney disease at least you will know for sure instead of stressing without conformation. Sometimes if you catch the disease soon enough a kidney failure diet might be enough to treat your illness.
