You do not really still eat fast food do you, I mean, now that you are grown up and everything?
#22 Multivitamins give you what should be in the food you eat and isn't.
This is either one of two reasons.
1. There is nothing in the crap you are eating.
or
2. You are eating crappy food.
What can I say?
Am I wrong?
I totally believe that you can either plan to eat crappy food, or plan to eat food that is good for you.
These days you can even have organic veggies shipped to your door, so do not tell me that you don't have the time.
My guess right now is that you do not know how to find and eat good food.
I am right again. Aren't I?
Seems the problem is that years ago people taught their children how to do this because the children had to help the family with feeding themselves.
Now the whole weight of this falls on the woman of the household. This idea became a reality back when women did not work out in the workforce. They stayed home, had the children and reared them. (You raise vegetables and you rear children. My Mother always corrected me on that one).
Now that women are working just like men do, they are also having the children, and feeding the family, and raising the children. What's wrong with this picture?
Anyway, there is really nobody home to rear the children anymore, unless you have a nanny.
The children are sort of rearing themselves with processed food to take out of the freezer and pop into the microwave. Now there is a lot of nutrients in that! (sarcasm)
So who is going to tell the children not to eat this way? There is not a sole home to even show the children how to peel veggies, put food together into a casserole and into the oven for the family dinner.
Most of the young people I know either cook great or they cannot cook at all. And there is nobody to fend for the kids who can't cook when everything in the grocery store is crappy, processed, GMO, food.
Here in Florida there is a person cooking food right in the store with the recipe and the ingredients all there. Anyone can watch how to make this stuff, but the children are in school all day. However the food they are using is all packaged, processed food, but it could be converted into a good recipe if you started with the right organic food.
Don't get me started on what they must be teaching the children in school if they none of them can cook!
How To Fix This Problem.
Anyone can teach themselves how to cook if they have the time between jobs.
The physiology of youth is so forgiving, that if they can make it until they have a job, then they can teach themselves how to be a great chef in the evening when they are not at work.
There are massive books at the library on cooking, if they cannot afford to buy them. Recipes are free on the internet. You can even learn how to cook by watching free videos on the internet.
But they have to want to learn how to eat better food.
First of all, they have to know there is better food out there to eat. And who is going to tell them this?
How To Change Their Desire For Better Food.
Most kids will turn up their nose these days at veggies. I was the one who did not want to eat meat. I ate all the veggies. I was reared on delicious fruits, good vegetables and great meat, even though I did not like the meat.
Maybe getting them to want better desserts or fruit dishes would be a good place to start.
Friends could invite friends over to have fruit recipe parties, and vegetable recipe parties until they got it down.
You cannot feed anyone else vegetables until you can make them desirable to eat. Once someone has eaten a vegetable dish they like, then they will have a memory of enjoying it and want it again.
You have to start somewhere. You can do the same thing with the fruits and less fatty meats until you have a diet worth eating.
The palate will grow with the different foods you try. The more you try, the more you will find that you like and some you do not like.
Getting their taste buds away from the useless food is a beginning, in learning how to eat new foods.
These Things Take Time.
Once you can get someone away from fast foods and processed foods, their taste buds will change and they can now start to taste real food again.
Now is the time to introduce new foods, new vegetables, new fruits, new recipes, and new dishes altogether.
The time to learn is always now.
You can start with a wine that goes well with the dinner and have some friends over for a new beginning party. You can even start with a non-alcoholic Martinellis Sparkling Apple Cider.
You will however, want to try the recipes first to make sure you know they are good before introducing them to others.....just in case you made a bad choice. It happens to everyone once in awhile.
It only takes one basic recipe book, if you don't want to spend all your tine on the computer, to learn the basics of how to boil an egg, cook corn on the cob, or a sweet potato.
In a matter of a few months, you can be inviting people over to show them what you have learned about food, and how good it really can be if you start with the right stuff.
What Is The Right Stuff To Start With?
If you want to end up with good food you must start with good food.
Start with organic food and your recipe with have additional flavor straight from the garden.
You can choose to grow your own food, or you can buy organic now and have it shipped directly to you overnight.
I bet you did not know this. This is like a miracle for those of you living in the city.
You can have a box of food that you pick out online, shipped to you to use every week.
And you can buy it at wholesale prices.
You can start planning your meals with what you feel like eating that week.
It is like having your own garden and not doing any of the work. You can eat what is good for you and enjoy it at the same time.
You can know you are eating the best that you can eat.
Until then you will just have to be satisfied with taking a multivitamin made from organic food.
Oh, you have not heard of this yet? Garden Of Life has been making vitamins for you for a long time now. They even make a meal replacement shake from raw organic food that is better for you than any food you can put together. All you have to do is add liquid and blend it together. And it tastes good too. I use the one with the cocoa in it.
Garden of Life vitamins have no fillers in them and there are few supplements, if any, that can make this claim. Everything in these vitamins is totally organic.
When you take Garden Of Life Vitamin Code Vitamins you actually feel the difference from the others you have been taking. That is of course if you have been taking any at all. If you have not even been taking a multivitamin you will feel the difference even more. You will first notice the energy you have that you did not have before you started taking them.
You will notice this when you start eating organic food too.
You have heard that organic food kills cancer, right?
It has something in it that modern technologically grown food does not. Organic food contains salvestrols, only because organic food has not been sprayed with fungicides. When they spray food with a fungicide then the plant does not make the salvestrol, and therefore cannot kill the cancer cells inside of you
You can also buy the salvestrol from Canada. If you have cancer, you can even find a doctor to help you with this. Salvestrol kills cancer and only the cancer cells, and not the other cells in your body.
Yes, it is a miracle.
Organic food is nature at its finest.
Just another reason why you should be eating organic food.
Organic Food. Good For Nature. Good For You.
As someone who has always loved to cook and eat, maybe I'm not qualified to comment on people who feel cooking is a chore. My mom was a great cook. She ran her own business, so she wasn't home much, but we always ate well because she would stock the house with great nutritious food. She cooked on weekends and we joined her in the kitchen and helped. So that's how we learned to cook. Simple foods are the best anyway. Stocking the refrigerator and pantry is more of a challenge now than it used to be when I was growing up, because of GMOs and unhealthy processed foods. Kids can be encouraged to watch the Food Channel. That may help. If parents just prepare simple meals like a big colorful salad, some grilled fish or chicken, and a sweet potato, the kids will get the habit. Or, maybe they can be given an assignment, such as a casserole dish...recipe and all the ingredients. Who knows, it might give birth to the new Julia Child. Kids do need to eat better. Thanks Kaite.
Thanks Joan for reading and I so agree with you about the GMOs there is a nonGMO shopping list in one of my articles....they will not tell you what is GMO but we can find out what is not GMO and buy that....I had to relearn how to cook when I came off the road as a musician...I at in hotels for many years....but food was not as bad then as it is now....loved your GMO article
yes I agree with you on that one for sure. n but i bet Monsanto has some other tricks up their sleeve...thanks for the update...I am sooooooo very glad to hear that...bu that is California...what about the rest of the states?..do we know about that?
I misread it. The bill is Proposition 37 and they vote on Nov. 6th. According to the polls, it is winning by a 3 to 6 ratio. Monsanto and the other bio-techs have invested $22 million to defeat it, but I think it's going to pass. If that happens, the rest of the nation will probably follow. It's only a label, but people have to know what they are eating. I think GMOs should be banned.
I am sorry to hear it has not passed yet...I am praying it does...i can hardly wait to find out....if it does not pass we are in for a very bad ride.....
Thanks Sonya for the read and comment...you ae welcome and now you do know...check it out,,,you can be a free member
Great article! very informative. It is so awful what has happened to food in our country.
Hi Sister Kaite, Hope everything is going well for you today. When microwaves were a rarity in the household and TV dinners were unpalatable for the most part. In our household. convenience foods were out of the question. Mom did most of the cooking and passed on a good deal of her cooking knowledge to her 'little ones'. She would not have her children go hungry even if she wasn't around. I passed some of this knowledge along to my children. A couple of my children say cooking isn't convenient for them due to their busy lifestyle. The other children took heed and made the time. They have also chose the 'organic lifestyle' . The end result can be seen whenever there is a family get together. There is always a price to be paid for convenience. Thanks for writing this article. I enjoyed it.
thanks for this great reply William6...you are so right...
