10x12 Storage Shed Plans

Yard work and landscaping is a big job. You invest in the tools to do the work well, and if you want to protect that investment, you’re going to need a place to store them and protect them from the elements. Not to mention kid’s toys, pool accessories, gardening items, and anything else you may have lying around outside. All that you need to get the job done is a good set of 10x12 storage shed plans. Not only will a storage shed keep your things nice, it keeps your yard looking nice, too. You could always go out and buy one from the big box stores, but why do that when you can build one of your own, the exact way you want it?

As always, before you build anything you should always check with your local town office for a building permit, no matter how small the job. Once you take care of that the design aspect comes in to play. There are so many storage shed plans to choose from, so make sure to pick one that suits your storage needs, as well as the space you have available to build one.

So you’ve got your 10x12 storage shed plans. Now you’ve got to choose the right materials for the job, such as wood types for framing work, cement for footings or foundations, windows, siding, and roofing just to name a few. You also want to take into consideration whether or not you want to run electricity to the shed, possibly for overhead lighting, or even outlets for power tools. If you want a shed that you can use during cold winter months, don’t forget about insulation materials. Something to consider is using reclaimed, or recycled, materials when building your shed.

There are many different types of storage shed plans, and each has it’s own purpose. There is the Irish Garden Shed plans, which has a wonderful rustic quality to it, and is great for storing your gardening tools. Or a Japanese Boat shed, with it’s Shoji sliding doors. You may just want a work shed, with a workbench and outlets for tools. If you have a Victorian house, you could build a Victorian style shed to match. Even a pool shed, perfect for all of those pool toys, floaties and chemicals. When you build your shed with storage shed plans, every detail is up to you.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you build your shed for. Gardening, tools, storage, or whatever you choose it’s a fine addition to your yard, and you built it yourself using a simple set of 10x12 storage shed plans.
