Clicker Train Your Dog to First Place

It has been proven that Clicker Training is the most efficient way to train your dog, especially if you are preparing for a dog show competition. Positive reinforcement training is a very productive and successful method to train your show dog. Dog show competitions are a very competitive sport and it's very intimidating for amateurs. If you want to compete, than you must have the best performance to make your pet standout from the pack.

I have heard from several dog show competitors just how much they love using these methods to train their dogs. Many of my clients were newcomers to the dog show industry and with a little help from clicker training, they moved up the ranks rather quickly. They couldn't believe how easy it was to learn and how quick their dogs progressed with the training.

In order to transform your dogs behavior, you must use distinct signals to capture their attention. For example, once the dog hears the click and performs the correct action being instructed. You instantly reward the dog with something he loves such as praise, petting, food, or toys. Although, the animal recognizes that the owner is-pleased with their actions, from your praise or food. The marker signal is more significant because you are telling the animal what he did to earn the treat.

Repeating the process will-ensure that the animal performs the correct action over-and-over-again. It's similar to muscle memory in humans, repetition is a very beneficial tool to enhance the learning process. Click the clicker and give the treat. Repeating the process requires some discipline, but it's still the most successful method on the market today. Pet owners cherish it because it's not harmful to the animal and it's very simple to teach.

It has also been proven that pet owners with no experience in pet training are often better at using this method, than the seasoned professionals. My friend Sally, had entered her dog into a show dog competition for her first time and was-surprised by how well her dog had performed. After a few months of clicker training with her dog, she was able to compete with the professionals and ended up taking home second place. Although, she didn't win it still proves just how well this method works.

In conclusion, if you plan on registering your dog for a competition, than you must try clicker training. Remember, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to use this method with your pets and it's very affordable. Therefore, you will not go broke in the process. Many pet owners have wasted hundreds of dollars on obedient schools and they were not satisfied with the results. With clicker training the results are-expeditious and guaranteed to work, as long as you follow the steps.

Street Talk

Tried it on the wife, didn't work. The next door neighbours dog is taking to it well, haven't got a clicker but a rolled up news paper slapped against the wall when the dog goes into continuous barking at nothing, works. I find he will now stop and go and lie down at which time I praise him. I sometimes think now when lonely he barks till I come outside, wags his tail and goes and lies down, he is training me, a fact I'm convinced of. "let me bark and get the old f..t out here." attitude and when I arrive "got you" now I can lie down.
