Dog Trainer - What Dog Should I Adopt

The idea of adopting a new dog creates a lot of excitement through the family. A dog you will nurture through it's puppy years and integrate into your family sounds like a very meaningful thing to do. Always remember that there are a lot of very important factors to consider before you go out and get your dog. If owners end up with a breed of dog that is not suitable to them then the dog can develop problems when it turns into an adult dog. The most common mistake with certain different breeds of dogs is the amount of play and exercise they are given on a regular basis. If you correctly carry out the introduction of your dog into your family you will gain a loyal, friendly companion for years to come.

It is always horrible to see or hear about homeless dogs - this is a modern day fact though. A lot of this homeless problem can be linked directly with the owners choosing the wrong breed and giving up on the dog.You must be able to give the dog all the right things and keep on doing it all his life. Bearing this in mind you should remember dogs live until fifteen years in some cases - can you commit to looking after and controlling a dog for this length of time?

Every dog will have a different personality much like humans, we are all different. A lot of dogs can be full of energy and some dogs can be quite tame and shy. Every dog breed will produce dogs with varying personalities so do some research before picking the breed. If you think you like a particular breed it may be a good idea to pick a mixed breed of dog containing that favorite breed. This will give the dog a number of balanced breed traits.

Your life should have a large bearing on the final decision of what breed of dog you adopt. Think about the dog and how it can fit into your life - the breed will be very important to this. If you are not that active and prefer to stay in than be in the 'great outdoors' then you should pick a breed that does not require a large amount of exercise. People do say that adopting an older dog is better than adopting a puppy as the older dogs personality is already mapped out and it has undergone some length of dog training. This is an important fact to remember if you are still unsure about what dog to choose.
