Dog Training - Train Your Dog Yourself

Minimal effort dog training will only result in your dog growing up to be a uncontrollable pet that has very bad behavior issues. Your relationship with your dog will suffer greatly if this happens. Full effort is a must with dog training and will improve the relationship between pet and owner and improve certain safety issues. If you let someone else train your dog you will always have reservations in the back of your mind whether they did a good job or not.

Any type of dog training must be carried out religiously every day with no slacking on the trainers part. You may start training the dog when it is still a puppy but not before the age of seven weeks. Trying to train a puppy before the seven week mark will be a complete waste of time as a young puppy finds it very hard to remember any rules taught. Taking them to a dog training school may confuse a dog as it gives them two teachers to listen to instead of one ( you ).

It is better to make your dog training sessions as fun as possible for yourself and the dog. If the dog is sent to a dog school for it's training then you never know who is going to be carrying out the lessons. The teacher that day may have already seen a couple of dogs and by the time they get round to seeing your pet they may be fed up. This will result in the fun being taken out of the training session for your pet. By teaching your pet yourself you can always make sure the fun element is included in it's training.

The task of teaching your dog yourself will always result in the bond between you and your pet becoming much stronger. This bond will last for all of the dogs life and is a very important thing to have. If you decide to send your pet to a dog training school there is a very good chance that the dog will have a much stronger relationship with the trainer than it does with you. You must also consider the cost of sending your dog to a training school. These schools do not come cheap and there is the cost of the traveling to add on to the total.

Whichever method of dog training you decide to follow always remember the importance of doing it. Dogs will learn bad behavior as they grow from puppy to adult but with decent training this should not prove to be to much of a problem.
