Dogs Gone Toys

Lets talk about the one thing that your pet likes the most, toys. In this article I will be talking about toys for dogs. We need to keep in mind the size of your dog when you go to purchase a toy or two. They are family so treat them like one of your children. Do not get them something that will harm them in any way.

Lets say you want to pick up a ball for your dog. Make sure it is not to big or to small depending on the size of your dog. A large dog could play with a soccer ball or even a basketball. Those type of balls would be used to push around. Or you could get a tennis ball that would be good. It is not to hard or to soft for your dog. A small dog could use the tennis ball also to push around or catch. Do not use anything that could get caught in there thoat by mistake. When the ball starts to fall apart, that is the time to get a new one. You do not want small pieces of the rubber getting caught in there thoat.

When it comes the bones, where do you start. There are so many makes and sizes out there today you really need to be careful on what you get. Again, it will depend on the size of your dog. Read the label to see what the bone is made of. Some ingredients may upset the dogs stomach. Do not get a large bone for a small dog in hopes that it will last longer. It will because your pet will stop chewing on it because it is to big and the bones is turning bad. So fit the bone to the size of your dog.

Now is the time for a frisbee, throw that thing and watch her go. She loves it, will get and bring it back for more. They are very safe and your should have no problem with them unless another dog grabs it and takes off. Lets hope that does not happen. As for stuffed animals, you should be carefull. Buttons could fall off, thread could get caught in their teeth. Make sure that it is different then your childs toy or they may think it is theirs and play with it. You do not want a little child mad at you because your pet tore up their toy. Make sure the stuffed animal can withstand the heavy chewing or get a toy that is made of organic material.

Look to see where the toy was manufactured. Things are made all over the world nowdays and a lot of them have no restrictions on what they can or cannot use to make the toys or bones. The last thing you want is for dog to get sick from a toy. It could have lead in it or something else. Do some research and check on recalls before you buy any toys.

Dogs are mans best friend. Lets keep them happy by giving them a toy they can enjoy for a long time. Make sure it is the right size for your dog and one that will give them a lot of excerizes. Make sure it is safe and the materials it is made of are safe for your dog. Do the research on the item before you buy, that way you know that you have a safe toy for you dog.

Thanks Bill, we had a soccer ball that my dog loved to play with. Then it went flat and we would throw it as high as we could in the air. He would sit there trying to figure out where it went. It was a lot of fun with him and his soccer ball.
