Healthiest Dog Food

Most dog owners do their very best to ensure that their dogs are healthy. If their pets appear to be well, they assume that they are in good physical health. Quite often, though, by the time the symptoms of illness become noticeable, it is usually too late to save them. They do not realize that most store-bought food they feed their dogs today is far from the healthiest dog food available and can cause serious problems.

Healthiest Dog Food Info

To be sure that you choose the best dog food you possibly can, you need to do some research to find out which ones contain ingredients that could be harmful to your pet. This will help you avoid having to go through the stress of seeing your dog suffer from an illness. It will also prevent your dog from having a traumatic experience. You will save a lot of money on vet bills as well.

Research has discovered that by putting their pets on a steady diet of almost any commercial dog food, dog owners could actually be shortening their pets’ lives. The sad part is that the majority of dog owners don’t know what goes into the food they feed their dogs. It has been found that not many brands have all the nutrients necessary for your dog to live a long, healthy life, even though the labels claim to be nutritionally complete, well-balanced, and the healthiest dog food you can buy.

If you would like your dog to live to his full life expectancy, you need to find out all you can about commercial dog food. Once you start investigating, you will soon find out the truth. You will learn that manufacturers of dog food include unsafe preservatives in their products to prolong the shelf life, thus raising their profits.

These preservatives can cause illnesses such as many different types of cancer, liver dysfunction, organ failure, allergies, hair loss, aggressive behavior, etc. Even if the label states that the product is preservative and chemical-free, you cannot believe this because often times it is just not true. Manufacturers are allowed to advertise that their pet food is free from harmful additives as long as they didn’t add them themselves. Preservatives are usually added before the meat is sent to the manufacturer.

It is hard to believe that the food dog owners are feeding their dogs can be so bad for their pets that it could cause them to die prematurely. They need to find out which is the healthiest dog food available so that they can enjoy their companion for many years to come. Dog food that is harmful to their pets is just not acceptable. They need to find out the truth so that they can feed their dogs the best dog food they can to ensure them a long, healthy life.

Thanks for this great article Jan. An awareness really does need to be raised on this very important issue. Too many people buy the cheapest thing on the market thinking it doesn't matter. I can attest to the long term benefits of feeding our animals a good diet and especially avoiding the the additives you mention. I think we have a responsibility as pet owners to make the right decisions for them. A bad diet and a fat animal is abuse.

That is so true. Food is not always thought of as the culprit when our pets get sick, but a lot of times it is definitely the cause.
