Homemade Healthy Dog Food Recipes

If you are like the majority of pet owners, your dog is most definitely not just a “pet”, but a full and true part of the family, sometimes even a replacement for family. They are companions and friends, confidants and playmates. Just as you would always want to ensure that your family is eating as well as they possibly can, you want to ensure that your dog has a healthy, balanced diet too.

Do you allow your children to eat junk food three times a day, every day of the week? No, I didn’t think so. If that is the case, then why do you let your dog do it? If you really knew the chemicals and preservatives that go into commercial dog food, you would never let your dog eat it again, much less multiple times daily. As a result, a lot of people are turning to the internet for healthy, homemade dog food recipes such as this collection we have put together for you in this book.

While creating delectable homemade dog food is less expensive and much healthier than store bought, you have to make sure that you are well-informed about the types of foods that your dog can and cannot eat. Dogs have a very simple digestive system in comparison to a human digestive system, and this means that some human foods can cause real and painful tummy upset or health problems for your dog when fed in certain combinations. This book takes all the guesswork out of that component however, as all the foods to be avoided are clearly listed so that you can avoid any unintentional disasters.

However, please remember that dog cannot live on meat alone, which is a common mistake that some dog owners make when first attempting to feed a homemade diet. Protein is critical to a dog’s good health, but a good balance of carbohydrates and vegetables is also necessary to promote stable energy levels. It is better to avoid adding potatoes however, because potatoes can cause upsets to the digestive system in some dogs. With this recipe book, all the best paired combinations are available to ensure that both you and your dog have a good experience with this new practice of feeding homemade and healthy dog food and treats. All of these recipes are also vet approved for your peace of mind.
