If People Greeted Each Other Like Dogs Do

There are days when, I get goofy thoughts running through my head today, was another one of them. Here's the question, what if people greeted one another the way dogs greet each other? Now before everyone gets up in arms about how disgusting that is and what a pig I am, there's more to it than sniffing butts and crotches.

I'm not meaning it to be in a sexual context though it's hard for people not to think of it that way. I mean that it is more about why dogs greet that way, and what they learn from each other by it. Sure we all know that SNIFFING is how dogs shake hands. But did you know when dogs sniff, it takes them out of themselves, and connects (transports them mentally) them to whom they are sniffing?

Not unlike when we smell freshly baked bread, or our mates favorite perfume, even our favorite meal cooking on the stove or baking in the oven. It takes us someplace else in our minds and makes us feel good. Since, dogs can't categorize things it is said, dogs must sniff each other each time they meet.

When they sniff they don't think this dog is my friend. Dogs only know they can become friendly towards one another because they sniffed. And because, they can't categorize that smell, this is why dogs must do it each time they meet.

Unlike a hand shake and an exchange of names for example where we can shake someones hand remember their name but, not truly feel friendly or feel safe!

If people sniffed each other as dogs do then, they would we know that we can be friends, or be safe with that person? Probably so, because to people this is a very intimate gesture to say the least.

If you think about it, that's exactly what people do! Of course it's limited to our mates, wives, or our friends with benefits. I told you, it's hard for people not to think of this in a sexual context.

When dogs sniff they can tell about another dogs age, sex, status and mood. Imagine if a person could do that! That could go a long way to stopping crime! We would know who did it. Men would stop saying stupid things to women because we would know their age and mood!.

A dogs smell memories last a lifetime! They can follow the faintest scent, for miles. Imagine children would hardly ever get lost or be missing. Wow, I would never forget where I left my cell phone or my car keys or need a GPS.

Imagine if you could tell if your mates mood with a quick sniff as you enter the room. For example I could walk into the house take a quick whiff and think Yeah, I better not ask if I can buy that motorcycle today!

I guess that's enough silliness for one day. But if people greeted each other the way dogs do it wouldn't be so bad.
