Neutering – A Dogs Tale Or Under the Tail!

Neutering, (castration) of a male dog, detested by most men, ouch! This raises the hairs on the arms and causes “goose bumps” in men, but to some women it brings pleasure, how they wish they could do it to their men. A dog, however, has no choice, the owner delivers him to the vet and, "snip", his life is change forever.

Now dogs investigate each other in different manners to humans, can you imagine a dog, neutered at a young age, meeting with one blessed with the jewels of the male specie. In for the sniff of the rear end, “Hold on what are those hanging there? I don't have those, yet I lift my leg like he does to mark the tree!” are the thoughts in the mind of the sniffer.

The memories return of the female he met, she had none, and she refrained from lifting the leg. Am I doing it wrong? Should I also squat like her? The confusion caused, “to squat or lift,” that is the question.

Some older dogs, who may have experienced the pleasure of their manhood, are recipients of this procedure for various reasons. They say that those disposed to lifting their legs on the favourite couch or chair, within the bounds of the inner house, cured of this habit when neutered. Can you imagine the dogs reaction when he realises what is about to happen to him?

“Do that again and see what happens!” the female of the household would likely shout as she cleans up the dribble of his territorial mark. The cleaned area, no longer containing the necessary odour of his territory, requires a further squirt.

“Damn this women, why is she continually removing my mark?” the dog would be saying, as he again lifts the proverbial leg to demarcate what he considers rightfully his, after all, he has protected this domain for years.

“That's it, I've had enough, it's the Vet for you, out with those cursed B..ls!” (word for testicles)

“What! No way. I'm sorry, I wont do it again.” is the screaming reply of the dog, unfortunately encoded in such a way, that she is not aware of his pleading reply. Off to the Vet he goes, and the testicles gone! Now he is no longer sure if the resultant snip has changed his sex, should he squat or lift?

“Lifting seems so energy sapping, may as well squat. Need to mark the territory? Not any more, I'm not the man of the house.” and as the energy sapping exercise, and constant squirting, no longer needed, he can sleep longer, lie around more, and put on weight. The energy, when squabbling with the other male dogs, for the favours of the female, who's odours aroused his sense of purpose in the past, no longer used. The odour he can still remember, but the purpose for it, gone from the brain. You see neutering, affects both the brain and the sex organs.

The next time an intruder enters the yard and approaches him, what is his reaction?

“Go for it fellow, I no longer have the B..ls or energy to chase you!” and you wonder why the dog of old, the protector of the house, allowed the intruder to enter and rob you of your belongings?

Beware the results of neutering the male dog! A pot belly, laziness, and a lack of preening the result. (sounds like the male of another specie.)
