They are really good guard dogs for families with children, just the best for family protection as they have a very caring, relaxed and affectionate temperament, accompanied by their strong and a bit threatening look. Raising a Boxer puppy can be a very pleasant experience when you know what to do and they are given a chance to properly socialize and train outside.

Boxer puppies are a great choice for families that got young children and looking for a friendly guard dog. Boxers crave for human companionship; they have a gift of forming a close and loving bond with each member of the family from the smallest childe up to the oldest family member.

What is important to check before getting a Boxer puppy home:

First of all, before you decide to bring a Boxer pup home, you should do your homework and have a good research about the breed - read as much as you can about is temper, health and the best thing you can do is just talk to other Boxer owners and ask them any question you got in mind, they will know best and could help you even after you get the puppy. It’s important to be as prepared as much it possible so you can relax when you get the pup is home, especially if this is your first time raising a dog.

Boxer Dog Training

Training a boxer puppy should involve housebreaking training, obedience classes, crate training, leash walking, clicker training and more. Always remember that puppy training is about consistency, patience and positive reinforcement always keep that in mind. Don’t rush it, take your time and do it as needed, it will be much better for you and for your awesome puppy.

When you start training you dog, remember that very dog is a distinct individual. Some dogs will respond really well to praise, others to will react best to rewards such as treats and toys and for some a piece of food will get the job done. The best thing will be to try all of these on their own and to mix them up, so you could really see what works best for you and for your Boxer puppy.

When you are training a boxer puppy the recommendations is to go for the reward based method with a positive and non-violent training your dog will learn everything you want from him.

Early puppy socialization is also very essential, as it helps the puppy ease up and get comfortable around other people and animals, as sooner you take your puppy to socialize the better, as he will get good habits and will be more relaxed and less aggressive with new dogs and people coming to your place.

In the bottom line, when you are taking a boxer puppy remember three things

1. Start training him from the first day you get him home. Keep in mind the faster you start training him the easier it gets.

2. Use positive reinforcement, boxers are really easy to train, but you need to do it right, the best way is always use positive reinforcement.

3. Patient, it’s the most important thing. Puppy training is something that takes time, take your time and train your puppy every day.

Hope I could help you with training your new boxer puppy good luck and have fun!
