An Addiction To Weed Explained

Have you heard the rumor going around about weed addiction? The debate over whether it is or isn't addictive? That's been the topic of many a debate online for quite some time now.

Folks have been debating the issue for probably years and still there seems to be known rhyme or reason for people to become addicted to marijuana.

That is up until now, and it's only through tons of studies that's been carried out over the years to find out exactly what it is about marijuana that can lead to an addiction.

Do you know what the results are?

There is none.

Well, there's no cannabanoids or any other chemical substance within the Cannabis Sativa plant that's been found to have any trace of an addictive chemical within it.

Yet it's still a drug that can lead to an addiction.

That's because of the psychological aspect to the drug that leads to people to think they're addicted to weed.

It's not that they crave the drug though, but instead it's the euphoric high that the drug creates in people when they smoke it. Or even take it orally as some people don't like to smoke it.

Actually, the only physical addiction from smoking weed will more than likely be the nicotine people mix in it for to be able to smoke it. When they haven't got any cannabis, they'll often revert to smoking ordinary cigarettes.

Anyway, the psychological dependence to the drug is something that psychologists are now treating as the addiction. It can be dealt with in a couple of ways.

Some people might prefer to read up on self help techniques to overcome the feeling of being addicted to marijuana, while others may feel that their sense of will power isn't strong enough to be able to resist the temptation of lighting a smoke up.

The group of people who lack the will power to say "no", they often find that marijuana rehab centers provide a lot of support to help through the first stages of quitting weed. On the other hand you get people who have the mind control factor sussed and can stop at any time without any difficulty.

This is the difference that's sparked the debate and kept it going for some time about whether the drug is or isn't addictive.

It's not the drug itself which is addictive, but there is some people who can display with what's known as an addictive personality.

Regardless what leads people to think about weed being addictive, there's plenty of help around to assist those who want to stop smoking marijuana.
