Are You Being Tricked Into Thinking That Some Drugs Are Not Dangerous?

To avoid abuse of drugs is preferable being well informed. Nowadays one of the main problems is that among an increasing amount of people some drugs are considered “soft” drugs and therefore, this belief deceives them to think that this drugs are not dangerous.

By the questions most people are asking about drug use we can deduce that this permissive attitude is spreading among younger people, leading them to start consuming the so-called “soft drugs” being cannabis, marijuana or weed the most used, without being conscious that it could lead them into using harder drugs very easily.

These are some of the questions most people ask about marijuana use, which answers seem to support the idea that smoking cannabis is not dangerous. We have heard and answer these questions in our counseling activities helping people to overcome drug abuse.

Giving honest answers to these questions is a someway tricky situation, because it could seem like we are confirming that the use of the so-called soft drugs is not harmful. But the real fact is the danger behind the use of these drugs which almost for sure leads to use of harder drugs. For most people this means just the start of an uncontrollable addiction.

If you were asked to answer any of these questions, give these answers, don’t exaggerate the harmful effects, because the person asking could know the answer already, and would be trying you just to know if you are answering honestly. Try to explain that smoking marijuana or using other so-called soft drugs is not conclusive demonstrated to be a big hazard by itself, but the chances of moving on to other drugs is very high, and consuming other drugs as methamphetamines, cocaine, crack, crystal, and a large etc, is potentially uncontrollable.

Of course there are some examples of grown up people who have smoked marijuana along their life without mayor health effects, but at the other side, a very high percentage of people using soft drugs change to harder ones, being this percentage bigger as the younger is the person involved.

Q. Can someone actually die from an overdose of marijuana?

R. Actually not. In contrast to alcohol, which could lead to death after consuming 5 to 10 times the amount required to intoxicate someone, it would be needed to consume 40,000 times the amount of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive substance found in the cannabis plant) required to intoxicate, for a human to be fatal. (It is roughly 120,000 hits of pot).

Q. How much people die yearly from weed abuse?

R. There’s no documented case of death from natural weed overdose. But there are new “marijuana” synthetics, that’s to say, marijuana with other substances added, known by names such as Spice or K2, and they are actually too much dangerous than natural marijuana and there are very much fatalities related to overdose of these new drugs.

Q. I heard that some guy dead from “monging out” what does that mean?

A. Monging out is the urban phrase for the come-down after smoking marijuana. Though some people say that this condition is mortal, this is just the state of fuzzy eyes and going into a daydream that comes after the immediate effects of smoking marijuana.

Q. Is there any benefit of using marijuana?

A. One proved and documented beneficial use of marijuana is to diminish side effects of chemotherapy as cancer treatment, which include nausea, vomiting, anorexia and cachexia. Antiemetics are used as a treatment to nausea and vomiting. But marijuana is under research to get the same relieving effects on these symptoms. There are two ways of administering marijuana to patients: one of them is administering the active chemical constituent, THC, as a synthetic form called Dronabinol, available by prescription, and of course, smoking marijuana cigarettes. Both administering forms function as antiemetic, but smoking directly seems to be more effective due to the fact that THC is more quickly absorbed from marijuana smoke than in the oral compound.

There are very much histories where the addict, influenced into thinking that some drugs are not dangerous, started inhaling solvents or smoking marijuana, or other uncommon substances not already considered as drugs like bathing salts or Salvia, and then, like some alcoholic who started drinking only wine, shifted into consuming extremely dangerous drugs in a snap.If you are using drugs is recommendable to get rid of them by using some proven method before this becomes an uncontrollable vice.

I understand what you're saying about it being a so-called soft drug, aka. ==> A gateway drug. Like you say though, there's a lot of older folks who have smoked it most of their lives and never had problems with other substances. I wouldn't say myself that the marijuana leads to other forms of drug abuse as I don't see it as the drug being the problem. It's the fact that it's illegal and folk have to run around in the wrong circles to be able to get it. With that comes easier access to other drugs and it's not everyone that can resist the temptation and say no.

Of course, I don't attack the use of Weed, if you visit my blog you'll see that there it is explained that by itself marijuana is not a danger, but the fact that younger people change very easily to other, harder and more dangerous drugs is the main issue.
