An addiction to weed is frowned by many a marijuana smoker. People insist that there there is no such thing as an addiction to weed.
The part they miss out when they make such a bold statement is that the problem is more accurately described as being a psychological dependency to the substance.
Think about that for a minute. The psychological dependency. You'll see why it's more a problem in the way you think of it.
To make it easier to understand.
Do you bite your nails?
I know that looks as if it's going way off topic but is indeed connected to the same issue I'm attempting to convey to give you a better understanding of weed addiction.
It's merely a habitual exercise that you get accustomed to over the years. If you're a nail biter you'll experience the same thing.
You get stressed you light a joint. It's a coping mechanism you've got used to. You're in the habit of sparking up to relax you a bit .
Same thing happens with people who bite their nails.
Is that an addiction.
No...
So what makes you feel like you have an addiction to weed.
Simple really. You get into the habit of doing something and after a while you get used to it. You have a stressful day at work. You can't spark up there, but you can spend the rest of the shift looking forward to finishing work, imagining what it's going to be like to get home, kick your feet up, roll a couple and mellow out. It gets you through the day when you're feeling miserable.
What's the first thing you do when you get home.
Grab the dope.
Why?
Because it's a powerful stress reliever that in that circumstance you would have conditioned you're mind to expect the pleasures of achieving instant relaxation after work and you're mind responds to that train of thought that you've been looking forward to.
So you go ahead and roll them up and get a bit high. It relieves the misery you've been feeling throughout the day.
Believing you have an addiction to weed is something that will hold you back from quitting smoking marijuana.
As any drug intervention therapy will tell you. You need to first start by understanding the addiction. In this case it's the habits you have. You need to then identify the triggers. In the example used above it's work and stress that motivate you to want to smoke weed.
All of these are attributes controlled by mind power and that is something you can change. An addiction to weed is easily addressed when you understand the master manipulators of the mind...then swing that to your own advantage. There's nothing you'll find more self empowering than pulling yourself out the other side of a weed addiction. Especially when you use nothing more than will power.
