With the high amount of substance abuse becoming associated with marijuana addictiveness, you may well start to question if it really is as big a threat as some folks will have you believe.

Take a minute and think about the chemicals in the drug...

Do you think it is just the THC that is going into your body.

If you think it is then you'll be in for a rude awakening. Marijuana addictiveness comes from not the THC in the substance but the hundreds of other cannibinoids in the drug. Dependent on where you are getting your gear from there could be other substances that are mixed into the weed to give you an extra kick. Possibly even added into your score by your dealer to have you coming back for more.

Unless you're using home grown stuff, you're probably putting hundreds of chemicals into your body that can quite possibly lead to marijuana addictiveness becoming a real issue for you.

Lets think about that for minute....

What if you were to become addicted to weed?

Do you know how you would react?

Would you continue to use the drug or would you look to get it treated?

If you were to look into the treatment programs you'd find that there's a variety of help available for the affliction.

Do you think there would be medical treatment facilities and 12 step programs available for treating the marijuana addictiveness if it weren't a real concern.?

Probably not...

But would you really need that sort of help. Treatment from a drug rehab clinic. Daily meetings to psychologists and what else have you. You probably wouldn't.

Here's why...

When you feel that you're becoming dependent on using hashish, it's mostly your mind tricking you into feeling you need a spliff to get through the day. In reality you can do without it. It's something that nearly every treatment center will most likely walk you through.

Self Discipline.

It's the art of controlling your thought processes. Taking control of how your mind associates the addiction to get you to a comfortable level where you know you aren't treating the marijuana addictiveness, but your effectively treating your self belief.

This is done in a variety of ways to address a weed addiction with the most common technique being...

Self Affirmations

Just as it sounds it's the process of repeating a phrase whenever you get the urge to light a joint. It's been used for years as part of the 12 step process of the world renowned AA program. It's since been adapted and put to use within the marijuana anonymous program.

The most effective treatment for weed addiction is self belief. You have to believe you are capable of stopping smoking marijuana to be able to accomplish that.

What's even better is that once you can use that process and set yourself that first goal of stopping, you'll be able to set yourself even more goals, reach them and take complete control

Marijuana is less addictive than alcohol yet it is illegal in most of the States. I too agree that the facts need to be disclosed because there certainly are a lot of falsehoods about marijuana out there. Cannabis has killed less people than alcohol yet it is illegal in most States - no known deaths from cannabis.
