EBook creation requires planning. You may have read some information out there saying that you can write an eBook in just a few hours and have it ready to go the next day. Well, while that might be possible if you have already a dozen eBooks to your name out there, it probably won’t be the case for someone writing their first eBook. EBook creation involves several crucial steps, and unless you go through each one of them in a chronological order, your product won’t be successful. How do I know this? Been there and done that!
The reason why I am writing this article is because if I could help newbies avoid the traps and mistake I went through when I wrote my first eBook it will all be worth it. So, here we go, let’s analyze the 7 crucial steps that you need to know before you write your eBook.
1) Choosing the right topic
What I mean by the right topic is that if you don’t do a proper research to understand your market and what people are after, you will have a very hard time selling your eBook, regardless of the fact that you complete all the other steps perfectly. This is how much this step is crucial. This is the first step you need to take in order to create an eBook and make sure that some people are already waiting to buy it. Do your market research very diligently and it will pay off in the end.
2) Outlining your eBook before writing
Before you even start writing your eBook, it is very important that you start outlining your work. If you skip this step, your eBook will have nowhere to go. When you outline your work it automatically helps you to follow a chronological pattern which; 1) will make your eBook more understandable and easy to follow for the reader, and 2) will help you complete your product much faster.
3) Writing your eBook
This is of course the main course of your product. Every other step you will be taking to get your eBook out there will be about this part when people will be able to read valuable information. Remember, if your eBook doesn’t help the reader, it’s not doing its job and your readers will want to return your product and not giving it a good review. So, the writing part is a very crucial step you obviously need to take seriously when it come to eBook creation. If you are not a good writer you can; 1) learn how to improve your writing skills or 2) outsource this part to someone who can do the job better than you can. Again, the goal, here is to write some good stuff that people will want to spend money on.
4) Editing your eBook
A good eBook means that it’s also error and typo free. This is why editing is a crucial step to eBook creation. Do not EVER try to skip this step, you would regret you did. I would even advise you that you get the help of another person to do so, but you should be the last one reviewing your final work before you consider it done.
5) Publishing your eBook
Another thing I’ve learned the hard way when I published my first eBook is that if you don’t know what you are doing in this department you can run into annoying issues. The worst issue you can run into is finding out that people are able to get your book without paying for it. Yes, that right! I lost track of the number of times this happened to me when I was trying to sell me first eBook. In order to avoid such devastating problems, you need to learn everything you can about eBook publishing.
6) Writing your sales letter
OK, now that you have finished the “eBook work” part, you are not done quite yet. Now you need to write your sales letter. To write your sales letter you have two choices. 1) you can outsource this job and have someone else do it for you. Or 2) you can learn how to do it yourself by following an eBook creation guide that will teach you exactly what to do and how to do it.
7) Promoting your eBook
This is the last step that you will need to take, but you have to remember that this step doesn’t really end as long as you want to sell your product. There are many different ways that you can use to promote your eBook, however, using digital product platforms such as Clickbank should be one of your priorities. Getting other people promoting your eBook will increase your sales by a lot.
EBook creation involves some work, there is no doubt about it, but most of all it involves knowledge. You can get that knowledge by following a good eBook creation guide.
Thanks for that info, I'm thinking about publishing a book online at this moment. How many words has the average E-Book?
Good overview. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Varol McKars
