Let me state up-front that there isn't a proven 100% 'cure' for ringing in the ears. What you do have are a number of treatments that can help your to manage your ringing ears or give you some reduction in the horrible sounds that you hear. Although it is true to say that some people do achieve full relief from their tinnitus (ringing in the ears) they are in a very small minority, reckoned to be only between 3% and 5% of sufferers.
The biggest problem that doctors face, when you've been diagnosed with tinnitus, is that the root cause that actually triggers your ringing ears cannot always be identified. You see, tinnitus is a symptom of a problem, not a disease or illness in its own right. And like any regimen the treatment has to address the underlying cause. But if the cause cannot be pinned-down, how can you apply the relevant treatment? Well, you can't. You just try different ones hoping for a good result.
Now, it has to be said also that one of the main causes of ringing in the ears is hearing damage, especially hearing that has been damaged by exposure to too-loud noise. When hearing is irreparably damaged, then there can be no cure. In cases like this the medical profession use means to help you 'manage' your tinnitus in a more positive way so that it has less effect on your quality of life. This can be through things like hearing aids, tinnitus maskers and tinnitus retraining therapy. Even surgery could be helpful.
But there are other causes such as stress, sinus problems, whiplash, head injury, high blood pressure, etc. So if the underlying cause can be identified then appropriate treatment can be given. This could include drugs, dietary changes, exercise, and so on. However, there are also complementary therapies like yoga, hypnosis, counselling, etc., that can help.
Now, as for a natural cure for ringing ears, broadly speaking, the same applies. There are many natural tinnitus remedies that can work to put right many of the root causes of the condition. For example, there are herbal remedies, homeopathy, dietary supplements, lifestyle changes, etc. But, as with conventional medicine, these can only work effectively where the direct cause is known.
So, to reiterate, there is no one proven cure for ringing ears, that is to say, one thing you can do that will eliminate your tinnitus. However, although they are in the minority, people do get cured, so it is possible, given that the underlying cause can be identified and repaired.
