Overcoming Binge Eating

Binge eating is when you eat too much. Not just eating too much, but having intensive eating outbursts where you really piggy out and completely overeat.

Even though you're already full - you're still cramming food inside your body, munching away more and more calories.

It isn't really a voluntary decision to eat that much. It is more like you feel compelled to do so, the same way an addict feels compelled to indulge in his addiction.

Thus, overcoming binge eating isn't easy. It's not something that can just easily be solved with willpower.

One thing that can help is to understand yourself better, especially in regard to your eating behavior. Oftentimes, you will see patterns. For example, when do you binge eat most of the time? At night? In the evening? During lunch? Or isn't it related to a certain time, but maybe to a certain state of mind, or certain emotions? Many people eat compulsively when they feel stressed, or bored, or sad, or angry or lonely.

When you know what triggers your eating disorder, maybe you can do something to avoid the trigger.

Also, it helps to write down the thoughts that go through your mind. You might have an important revelation about yourself this way.

Maybe you have negative thoughts. If so, collect them in a journal. And then transform them into something more positive. For example, if you think about yourself: "I'm useless." Then instead create the affirmation: "I am useful for my family and friends and for humanity. I contribute something of value to the world." Repeat this affirmation again and again.

However, this is a slow and lengthy process that requires a lot of work and patience. Don't be harsh on yourself if you still catch yourself binge eating every now and then.

Instead, recognize each step that you take and be proud about the progress you make. Overcoming binge eating is a work in progress.

If you want to make faster progress and stop the binge eating more effectively than just with using affirmation, hypnotic suggestions can really help. Just by listening to these suggestions in a relaxed state of mind makes your mind more succeptible to them, and can help you to reprogram your subconscious mind more positively.

Binge eating is not just a physical problem - it's not just weight gain that you have to worry about. Many times it can also affect your sense of self-esteem and even contribute to depression.

Hypnosis to stop binge eating might not be what comes to mind as the first thought, but it is something that has already helped thousands of people who were in the same situation like you to master the challenges you're confronted with.
