Okay Who Are the Elite 1 Percent?

Who Are The Lucky Ones?

I gathered my information from a few different sources to see what came up. CNNMoney, TehranTimes and to throw an entirely different source in there, Professor G. William Domhoff, Sociology Dept, UCSC. According to Professor Domhoff, the numbers showing the ratio of the average CEO's paycheck to that of the average worker is in his words "shocking". Many believe myself included, and this was argued in "Who Rules America? ("Professor G. W. Domhoff",) that indeed top exe's of the largest corporations, banks, investment firms, the top contenders, rule the federal government through their lobbying, campaign funding, think tanks, and last but not least the appointments to top key government positions. Myself, I call it the same as always, "good old boy network". Some of these CEO's even sit on two or more board of directors of high powered corporations, well at least his doesn't have to change hats. Oh the power "elite" just you don't love it! They can look down from their big beautiful conference rooms and watch us ants getting on and off buses and going to real jobs making them money. I am now quoting the TehranTimes on some of the 1 percent power giants; Bank of America who recently declared they might be filing for bankruptcy, Barclays Capital, Citigroup who also has been whining about loses and are charging huge interest rates on credit cards. Let's see, there is also Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo. Those are some of the banks. According to Fortune 500 some of the top diversified financials top fat cats are Fannie Mae, General Electric, Freddie Mac and Ameriprise Financial. Now didn't we give these folks trillions of dollars if I remember right? I wonder what happenned to all that money? I find it interesting since both Citigroup and Bank of America are letting go of thousands of employees and Bank of America will soon be charging $5.00 ATM fees.

Senators and Congressman Among Some of America's Millionaires

When I read the list of these people who are suppose to be working for the us ants, I couldn't believe how many were quite wealthy and on a government salary who knew? I will name just a few for you Democrat, Republican makes no difference to me. I will just give you some names of the ones worth over one hundred million, Rep.Darrell Issa, (R-Calif), Sen. John Kerry,(D-Mass.), Rep. Vernon Buchanan, (R-Fla.) and Rep. Jared Polis (D-Col.) there are more, don't want to list them all but I was fair to both parties. Of course there is another list of the ones who are under the hundred million mark. Now I haven't even gotten to the billionaires but I think you get the picture on who rules who in this country.

Why are the rest of us the (99 percent) Upset

The America people are not stupid nor do they expect that everyone will be a millionaire. We are upset about the banks and finance giants like Fannie Mae and others who get bailed out and still are crying poverty, but give their shareholders and CEO's huge bonuses and golden parachutes but pass on huge fees to the consumer and cut thousands of jobs. The interest rates on the credit cards they flooded us with are out of sight and if you want to get a loan to wipe out your debts and be able to catch up they refuse you after they were told to use the money they were given for loans and refinancing of homes for people. These CEO's are going to have to learn that they might not get that new 3.5 million dollar home or junior might have to go to a state college instead of Yale because EVERYONE, is hurting right now. We just want to make ends meet. Most people I talk to haven't gone on a vacation in years. Their houses if they still have them, need repairs many have no medical insurance and they are working two jobs and their spouse is working, something is very wrong with this picture. Don't dig us deeper into a hole we cannot get out of. If the federal government gives anymore money to these banks or financial institutions I can't even imagine the chaos and hey enough is enough. Our fellow ants in other countries are feeling the same, what is this "let them eat cake"?

What's It Going To Take?

These Senators and Congressman are going to have to go back to their faraway memory banks and remember who they are suppose to be working for. The banks need to be told and treated the same way we are "you got yourself into it now get yourself out", oh it's not that easy, well it hasn't been easy for us for years and don't pass your mistakes of your mortgage underwriting and litigation problems on to us. You gave out ballon mortgages to undocumented immigrants who just took off before eviction after stripping the houses of everything, (myself and neighbors have seen this in our neighborhoods). Thousands of people were given adjustable mortgages who could no way afford to pay those flexible interest rates as well and now you are eating houses who's fault is that? We don't want to have to pay for other's mistakes. We what a fair chance.
