Amazon Kindle Fire Review

On the 28th September, 2011, Amazon Inc, the largest online retailer in the world, made public the Amazon Kindle Fire, its all-new tablet, which will become available November 15, 2011 in the US market. The awesome news managed to slip out of the bag even before the Amazon press event began; with a price tag of $199, the Amazon Kindle Fire is going to be an Android tablet of 7 inches.

The Amazon's Jeff Bezos then took the stage and revealed it, displaying its ability to playback a movie and additional media features. As suggested by rumours, it puts one in mind of the $499 BlackBerry PlayBook, even though the bezel has a narrower look. Its weight is 14.6 ounces, and it is just like the PlayBook. When it comes to style, the Kindle Fire is a bit more fashionable when compared with RIM tablet which is far more expensive. However, when looking at the hardware, they are impressively similar. In contrast to the BlackBerry tablet or the several struggling Android tablets that are currently on the market Amazon, quite clearly provide a whole lot of reasons why the tablet is considered to be important.

Amazon advertise the New Kindle 2011 as featuring 18 million songs, TV shows, movies, magazines, books, games and apps. Regrettably you do not get all the features mentioned when the phone is bought; however, this piece of equipment is designed as a channel for media; this is so whether you pay for streaming subscription for Amazon Prime, make periodical subscriptions, purchase books or music or movies a la carte. As was mentioned before, the Kindle Fire features a processor that is dual-core plus a very lovely custom interface.

Although it does not look like any Android tablet authorized by Google, the tablet is capable of playing Android games quite well – according the short demonstrations which were shown today.

The cost for the Kindle Fire can remain low partly because with internal storage of only 8 gigabytes, this is half of most tablets’ baseline storage. The tablet is expected to be used mainly in Wi-Fi hotspots at which content from Amazon cloud can be streamed. In many respects, Amazon is successful with the Kindle Fire. The price is the very first reason. With a price tag of $199, it is in a safe zone where it will not allow a big dent to be made in the pocketbooks of consumers and it is nearly, but not really, an impulse purchase.

The Kindle books’ on-board storefronts, Android apps, TV shows and movies are appealing to the eye. The close ties of the device to the many different storefronts, paired with the huge selection of TV episodes, movies, music and books of the company is what allow it to stand out from the crowd of Android tablets that are generic – the generic tablets are able to play content, however, they do not have any direct attachment to stores (apart from movie and book rentals in Google Market).

Getting content and to use it on your tablet appears to be effortless. It should be also quite simple to see what is available in the cloud for you to download; it is as simple as just tapping on what you want from the content, then tapping on ‘Download’.

With the afore-mentioned benefits to be had from the Kindle Fire, it would be ideal for children whose parents do not wish to give them tablets but have to pay an arm and a leg. As a companion to the Amazon services, the Kindle Fire is loaded with entertainment.

With the many and wonderful things that the new Kindle 2011 can do, it seems more than just a mere “tablet’ but instead, a machine with content-playback abilities which have a few extra smarts. New Kindle 2011 is not really trying to win the masses of Android tablet or iPad. Instead, it is undertaking its own unique thing, and seeking an entirely different audience.
