Gopro Hd Helmet Hero Camera Review

Almost fifteen years ago I had the chance to wear a helmet cam while racing motocross. It was a lipstick style camera mounted under the visor of my helmet that included wires running under my jersey to a recorder that I had to wear around my waist. While the chance to show friends and family what it is like to race dirt bike's was one I could not pass up, the extra weight, being taggled in wires, low picture and sound quality, and the fear of breaking someone else's camera made my first hemlet cam experience my last. Fast forward fifteen years and someone got it right, the GoPro HD Helmet Hero.

That's right, a HD camera that's made for your helmet and almost anything else you can think of. The Go Pro HD Hero camera shoots video up to 1080p at 60 frames per second with the option of recording in 960p or 720p at 30 frames per second. Perfect for taking your days adventure home and showing off on your HD tv. If your just looking for some good still photos of your day the Helmet Hero can also shoot 5 megapixel still photographs in 2/5/10/30/60 second intervals from your point of view. It also has a built in microphone to put great sound with the action. All these great features are above and beyond the camera I got to use.

By now you must be thinking you have to bolt a camera the size of a mountain to yourself, not the case. The HD Hero only weighs 3.3ounces with the battery. Not only is the camera lite but, battery life is an amazing 2.5 hours between charges. Push the shutter button once and you get two and a half hours of HD filmimg or point of view photo's to share with everyone. Add an optional 32gb sd card and you can have up to 9 hours of pictures or movie's of what it is like to be in your shoes for awhile.

I used riding dirt bike's as my example of using the HD Helmet Hero but the sky is the limit. The camera comes with a removable polycarbonate housing that makes it shockproof so while dirt and rocks are flying your way it is still recording. Watersports such as surfing, wakeboarding, and fishing are also great ways to use the Gopro, the same polycarbonate housing also allows it to be waterproof up to 180ft/60m.

So you don't wear a helmet when your playing, that's ok, the HD Helmet Hero is compatable with all GoPro mounting system's and accessories. There are many options a clamp mount, for seat posts, rollbars, and handlebars. A head strap, a lace through strap mount for vented helmets. A chest mount or a wrist strap. Also flat adhesive mounts for anything you an imagine.

I do not think there is a better way to show your family and friends what they are missing out on everytime you go out and live alittle or hang it all out. A true must have accessory to bring your weekends home the, GoPro HD Hemet Hero.
