I just picked up a new phone recently and I had to get my thoughts out to everyone outside of my friends, family, and co-workers and tell you how much I enjoy this Device! I have been around Android since it came out and I was in awe of how much you can do in the palm of your hand.
I started my Android journey with anLG Ally because of the keyboard, unfortunately the phone was just not up to par with what I wanted. I moved on to a Droid 2. I had seen all the Droids, Samsung phones, LG Phones, HTC phones, so on and so fourth. I had gravitated to the HTC devices. I thought the user interface was what I wanted, HTC had great phone design, and the intricate details made it stand out.
I finally picked up my HTC Rezound on a websale for a really good deal, and with it being a device that was to run on a better network I couldn't pass it up. It arrived and I got it activated and it was everything i thought that it would be and more.
Display
Lets start at the display section it has a 720P HD screen and it is amazing! Its sharp, the colors look great, and it's crystal clear. A lot of people didn't like the feel of it compared to the sleek design of the Razr and it was to heavy, I don't get that out of this phone it feels good in my hand and its not heavy at all to me.
Design
Then lets jump right into the design of the phone. It's rounded towards the top and bottom, it doesn't feel very box like which is why I wasn't a huge fan of the Moto Droids. Its black and red which seems to be the trademark of HTC, the front of the phone is black except for the red touch buttons and that splash of color really pops. The back is all black as well with a red ring around the camera, and the red and black beats audio logo on the back.
Hardware
Hardware is what really draws me to this phone, and it really drives the phone to be awesome. It rocks a 1.5 MHz dual core processor which makes it fast! It has 1GB ram which makes the phone never feel like it lags from what I have seen with it. Then the cherry on top is 16GB on board memory on the phone and then a 16GB micro sd card to help keep your apps and media at the tip of your fingers.
Extras
Lets take a look at the camera real quick. It is an 8 megapixel rear camera with dual flash accompanied with auto focus and geo tagging. It comes with Beats audio integrated and its the first HTC with beats. It is only active with the built in Music app and with the headphones it really blew me away! Then it comes with the HTC Sense 3.5 which is awesome I love Sense more then any other UI. It also has a new lock screen, your typical HTC flip clock, and the weather that runs across the screen when unlocked.
When I stack this up to the Razr or the Nexus it may not be better specs wise, or design wise, but for me it is everything I want in my phone and that's why I picked it up. If you haven't had a chance to look at it go and do so, you might be impressed and want to jump right in and enjoy the HTC experience it is "Quietly Brilliant!"
Looking for advice about the Android world. I am exploring to pick out my new phone. My current one is a Palm Pre 2 with Web OS2. I am not happy with the support and app development from HP. My last 3 phones were Palm before HP bought them. Any advice on researching and comparing features for heavy calendar and contact useage. Also want Kindle app and Voice input would be nice. I am a heavy Dragon Dictate user on my PC. Thanks...
