The Amazon Kindle bookstore keeps Kindle users’ devices stocked with books. The Amazon book store includes numerous books from established authors who often have had their hard back books modified for Kindle use. Self-published authors can make their books available on Kindle. The ability to self-publish books on Amazon and thus Kindle, benefits readers because they have more titles to choose from. It also gives writers, who might not otherwise have an opportunity to have their work published, the opportunity to not only publish their books, but sell them.
Amazon Kindle publishing is completely free. It is also easy to do. When a person self-publishes a book on Amazon, it can be accessed via Kindle and is thus available for sale or for free (via the Kindle Owners' Lending Library: more on that below). Publishers can choose between two commission programs. One is for 35% of the royalties and the other for 70%.
Amazon Kindle books can be purchased for the following devices, the Kindle, any Android device, the iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, Blackberry, Mac and PC. They can be published on these Amazon websites. This widespread availability gives books published in the Amazon Kindle book store a great deal of reach. The following languages are supported, Italian, English, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French. Individuals that speak more than one language will have many more titles available to them.
One of the newest Amazon Kindle publishing programs is the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library. This program allows authors to reach what have been characterized as the US Amazon Prime members. The Lending Library works differently from the Kindle book store. Instead of authors being paid a set amount of money for every book they sell, they share their books with the public for free.
Publishers are paid based on the amount of money in Amazon’s Lending Library pool. For instance, in the month of February, $600,000 has been placed in the pool. Publishers earn money based on how many people are eligible for free downloads and the number times their books are downloaded. This option has the potential to be lucrative, if a person writes quality books on subject that are in high demand and then are able successfully promote their books. This is a great alternative to traditional Amazon and Kindle publishing. It can also be used in conjunction with it, giving individuals the opportunity to make a great deal of cash. Learning to publish on a Kindle can be both fun and profitable !!
