New vs old.....is there even reason to compare them? Yes! The reasons for this comparison are simple. While the newer cell phones have all the bells and whistles and make you go ohhhhh and ahhhh there are some not so cool things about them too, which in turn give the older cell phones an upper edge. The newer cell phones are by far the thing thats in, no one wants to take an old phone and flash it around to their friends lol. Now a days its not so much how your phone looks tho its more what it does.
Big name phones are huge like the iphone, blackberry, and htc etc. I don't recall there being an Htc phone 15 years ago so it probably wouldn't work flashing around a dinosaur Htc.....then again you never know. Of course bottom line is that the style, and age of your phone you want to use will directly fall back on personal preference. If you want to use an old phone, fly at it, if not then don't.
I think the newer cell phones are awesome, they do great things and are basically like a mini computer on the go that you can call off of. Pretty cool indeed. (These are of course based on my own personal experience with the newer style phones, not actual proof from other people). I have found the newer phones have things that aren't so great about them. For instance, the battery life isn't that long. Its great if you never use your phone, cause it will last a long time, but if you use it to go on any social media, or watch video's or text, or take pictures you are using your battery at a crazy speed. It kinda turned me off of these phones.
The service for the phone, what I mean by that is the ability to use the phone while travelling and such, not so great again. I noticed and actually did a few tests on this with various newer phones, and older phones, but the older phones work great further away from major cities on the highway than the newer phones did. I lost service way faster with the newer phones every time. I was constantly looking at the bars on the phone to see if I was able to send a text or not. Kinda reminded me of that commercial where the person is walking around with the phone saying "Can you hear me now? how bout now?" looking for a signal. It usually ended up in me being totally frustrated and turning the phone off till I got where I was going. Now when I travel I change the SIM card and put it into a more basic phone then I am able to use it more than the newer phone.
Basically other than the things mentioned above, there isn't anything wrong with the newer style phones. They are wonderful phones, with great features and the ability to do lots of things you can't do on a regular cell phone. I would buy another newer phone in a heartbeat and then keep the older style phone for travelling only. Other than that great phones all around. Its just great to be able to leave home and talk to people, or text them, couldn't do that 20 years ago!
