My interest in photography has never waned. When I look through the albums my wife, and I made over the years filled with aging hazy photographs I realize that, with modern technology now available, I can do a better job. It will give me great pleasure to take quality photos of our married children and their families as they grow.
The Old Days
I use to have a Ricoh reflex camera with a telephoto lens that I used for taking surfing photos but, as my family grew the expense of film and processing costs for what was just a hobby became too much.
Over the years this badly neglected camera started to suffer from saltwater corrosion and finally threw in the towel about l2 years ago. It is resting on the bottom of the Caribbean sea.
Like many amateurs I began to rely on cheap point and snap digital cameras. I must admit they are easy to use and carry around but afterwards when viewing the pictures I always feel slightly disappointed with my results.
The New Days
The revolution of androids with built in cameras has permanently changed the photographic land scape. These are great for capturing spur of the moment images and for instant sharing. They will never replace DSLR cameras simply because with the android you are stuck with the one lens.
Always An Excuse
The excuse for the poor my results I convinced myself was, and is probably half true, never having enough time. However this excuse is now starting to wear a little thin and I have decided to take the plunge and invest in my dream DSLR Nikon D7100 which has re-awakened the photographic beast in me.
A Lot To Learn
The wheel has turned and now as I grow older I expect to have more free time to spend following my dream. For a quick learning curve I will join a local amateur photographic club so I can hopefully start taking high quality images of family, sports, landscapes and anything else the eye of the camera will exposes me to.
Decision Has Been Made
After plenty of research as well as lots of feeling and touching this beautiful camera, my gut instinct tells me that this is the one for me. All cameras come with very detailed technical specifications and even the reviews for a pretty non techie guy like me find it quite overwhelming.
For the guys that really know their stuff, these specs are extremely important, so after reading their reviews I know that this is a fantastic dslr camera is ideal for amateur enthusiasts who like me know it's time to up their game.
