Free Gift: Email Marketing Opt - in Gifts

Email marketing opt-in gifts are popular, aren’t they? For giving and receiving.

Especially when 2 specific words are used. Those 2 words? "Free Gift!"

Tests show people take action for those 2 words, “free gift” much more often than they do for other words. It's kind of funny because each word says the same thing.

Yet testing suggests these 2 words together always get amazingly better results than either word alone.

2 powerful words. Use them carefully!

By that I mean use these 2 powerful words in ways that are attractive to qualified visitors. A qualified visitor is a person that has interests likely to fit with you and what you do.

When you give something to a qualified visitor, they'll probably want more from you. They'll open your emails eagerly.

That's who you want on your list, right? People eager to hear from you.

And that eagerness grows when you create your email marketing opt-in gifts yourself. You'll be remembered when your email arrives!

That's critical because email marketing campaigns are high tech. Cues people are used to getting in person go missing.

When you meet someone in person, a “first impression” happens within the first 7 seconds. Much of that first impression consists of visual cues because most people are visual.

If you think 7 seconds is small, here's something smaller! Online, people judge and move on, even faster.

Tests show that if you haven’t caught someone’s attention within 3 seconds, you won’t.

So when your email marketing opt-in gift is attractive fast to qualified visitors, that's success! You'll be able to get more of these qualified visitors to do what you say and opt-in to your list.

You want qualified visitors to be who opts in because, whether it is good or bad, your list is your asset. When a qualified visitor opts-in and becomes a qualified subscriber who opens your email, your list has true value.

Put together some information. Save it in an easy format (such as .PDF or .MP3). Then offer it as an your email marketing opt-in gift.

Start simply! Do a written report or an audio recording.

As you do it, remember to appeal to qualified visitors. Deliver information useful to your right people! You'll tend to attract them.

Your email marketing opt-in gift doesn't need to feel perfect! It just needs to be, "You!" in a way that's relevant to your ideal list.

Qualified visitors who opt-in to your list get to know you and like you! Subscribers start learning from you right away when you give email marketing opt-in gifts you create.

Great article Cynthia...I never thought about the meaning of "free gift" as being the same. No wonder it works, your readers get a "double whammy" and they don't even know it. Your article is very insightful as usual.

Hi Cynthia, some really interesting statistics here. I had no idea people make decisions within such small amounts of time. Must be a pretty useful combination having studied both psychology and computer science.

Penny, Thank you! I'm glad you learned something useful. Yes, psychology and computer science go together very well with all the changes the world's been passing through. Plus, the background helps me pick up on some of the research studies that bury the useful stuff in fancy words:-) blessings, Cynthia

I love your article, Cynthia. I was dog-tired tonight and thought I would just check in for a minute. Promised myself I would not really read or type anything... and BANG!!! I got smacked up-side my curiousity by your title... Okay, I will just glance at it and will come back tomorrow to really read it... No such luck, not only the title had me hooked but the content was informative, valuable, well presented and made me want to take action. This is no small feat this evening. Really glad you wrote this article. Thanks!
