1-Do We Need to Know about Brain Waves?
The brain operates at different frequencies called brain waves. These brain waves can influence the personality. Brain waves have influence: memory, energy level, the mood, mental activity, learning ability, immune system, stress level, and happiness. They can change our emotional states.
Brain waves create some interesting phenomena like: Some people seem to be in constant good mood because of their positive brain waves. Children are happier because of their slower brain waves. Memory is at its best under slower brain waves. Healing can start at different brain waves. Depression is associated with certain brain waves.
2- What are Brainwaves ?
The human brain consists of 100-200 billion cells called neurons. These neurons produce electricity whenever they communicate with one another. Millions of neurons produce electrical current, and some neuroscientists estimate that an active brain can produce up to 10 watts of electricity. This is one reason the brain is viewed as an electromagnetic organ. Like radio waves, brain waves are a form of electromagnetic energy that travel at the speed of light. When the wave repeats itself during one second, it is called a frequency which is measured in cycles per second or Hertz (abbreviated Hz). A slower wave means a lower Hz. Brain waves have a speed between 1-100 Hz. Brain waves are created by our thinking, behaviors and emotions. They have different speeds and the four main waves are: Beta, Alpha, Theta & Delta. Another newly discovered waves are called Gamma, and little is known about them. These brain waves change according to our activity, and the ability to shift from one speed to another is a symbol of a healthy brain. These 4 main waves are present at all times but at different levels. Sometimes and because of some factors, the brain is not able to shift freely from one brain wave to another, which may cause mental disorder like depression.
Slower brain waves are considered better for our emotions and mental activity. However, because of our lifestyles, our brain waves have become faster than normal, and this may cause anxiety and higher stress. Causes for faster brain waves will be explained. Other factors for depression are also related to brain speed, and this will be portrayed in other articles.
I will explain the nature of these waves, and how they affect the human personality, mostly negatively.
