A negative thought will make you feel negative emotions, which in time lead to a negative attitude, which of course will result in more negative thoughts, and this will become a vicious circle from which it will be very hard to get out of. As you see this is a dangerous and endless chain of unhappines, stress, depression and more.
Some people have an inborn tendency to negativity (as you may already know, depression is hereditary), others may feel negative by all the foul things they see in life. Either way all of us feel down and unhappy from time to time. The worst thing you can do is continue with these ugly thoughts, letting your emotions drag you down. BREAK the chain now and STOP it before it takes control of your mind.
SOME EFFECTS OF NEGATIVE THINKING
Closing Yourself Down To Possibilities: When you are in a negative state of mind you are closing yourself down to the possibility of positive things. You will be attracting towards yourself circumstances that support your 'negative logic', that "everything is bad"; thus feeling stuck in a negative state where everything seems to go wrong.
Physical Effects: Your mind and body lower their defense, as all your focus and thoughts about negativity will eventually drain your energy. Besides, an extreme negative mindset can cause you to have low self esteem, a self defeating attitude, eating disorders, depression, insomnias etc.. Moreover, it has been proven that negative feelings weaken a person's immune system; therefore causing him to become sick more frequently.
Feeling The Blues: Negativity also causes you to feel anger, jealousy, anxiety, frustration, hate, distrust and more; None of them are pleasant! And these feelings also obstruct any positive feelings you would have otherwise felt had you not been negative.
Negative Effects on Others: You may not be aware of it but all our thoughts and emotions are connected. Do you ever wonder how your negative attitude is effecting your closest ones? Think of that time when your boss was in a very bad mood and he made you suffer. Same Thing.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Have Positive Thoughts: If you really think about it, there is not one single benefit of carrying around a negative attitude. So try to keep your mind as positive as possible. Focus on the good times! Bad experiences will come and go, you cannot stop them from coming but you can stop letting them ruin your life everytime one shows up.
Stop Complaining: You probably think that it is easier to complain than to see the positive side in a situation but you are wrong. In the long run, a positive attitude will be much more worth your time and energy if you truly apply it in every aspect of your life.
Switching to happier thoughts is just a matter of making a conscious effort. Try geting rid of negative thoughts by fighting them and replacing them with positive ones. Accept any negative situations in your life which you cannot change and be happy in spite of everything, and you'll see how deeply rewarding it is! At the end of the day, when you lay in your bed, think about what you would have changed in your day and CHANGE it. It's that easy! Just try it once and you will see the difference on your outlook on things!

Have you been looking inside my head? This is an unfortunate thought process that befalls many people, I was one of them. To change an attitude is not easy, when down you need to read this article, but it is not in ones head. when I get negative now and then, it takes a very big effort to change your mindset quickly. I have trouble doing it and normally if the wife notices it she will sit quietly with me while I work through it. I know she is there and will wait patiently till I am ready to talk, when I'm ready then she talks sense into me.
I used to be one of them too, and it was actually my girfriend who helped me become a positive person, and I also started reading books about positivity. It was not very easy at first but now I'm really glad I became more positive as it has changed my life; I rarely complain anymore and I enjoy my days, even at work where they seem to be passing by more quickly than they used to when I spent my days complaining!
