This is another time where I rocked back and forth in my chair wondering what kind of title to bring people in. They say a good title brings in views you know? And it's the truth. My thing is, I want every last one of my views to find some relation or connection with my writing, because that's about the only motivation I have for doing this.I rather have 100 views and most of them relate to what I say, rather than 1000s to just skim and leave. If you guys read my bio, I can't make things up, nor do I throw out article after article just to say "Hey I wrote this many, cool right?". But Anyways, here's my Story.
To those that have seen my writings, you know I have a decent amount of articles circling around games, and few of them are different topics to be diversified. This battered newbie has seen the glorious "make money online" schemes that virtually take about a year to see any real money, assuming you have the "right" training. Now, I'm not an instant gratification type of guy, I believe in putting in hard work just like the rest of the people working their 9-5s so they can continue to exist in this society. Maybe perhaps I'm an ambitious type, because I believe doing the same amount of work and getting paid much more than the peanuts these corporations give us. Really at the end of the day, people want to know how to make the quickest amount of money in the shortest amount of time.
And that's how they get us, through those hype-filled products written and made by people who haven't made a DIME online but will profit because it sounded good enough for you to make an emotional impulse buy off you. This is how they make their money and I'm pretty sick of it. I guess that's the "fake it till you make it" saying shines the most, but this kind of deception is costing the rest of us money. I understand this isn't for everyone and that most people will be buy the dream but without the motivation to make it a reality...still. I can only speak on my behalf, however I know there are people who spend the last of their money trying to make it all work.
On my end I can't complain, because I fell off doing the Internet Marketing. Why? because I don't have the funds necessary to support it. While it is true that yes, it doesn't take much AT ALL to fund your business, still I can't even afford that. Here is my typical day for the past 2 months since I lost my job. I...wake up, Turn the PC on, Hop on Facebook and Twitter and Spectate, watching other people living the life I wish I could live. Now, there are some who lie their butts off about how great their life is, but on the other side of things.. those comforting lies sound better than the unpleasant truths. No Car and No job.. the odds are heavily stacked against me. It's difficult for me and it's like battling depression from day to day.
But what was my purpose of telling you my small story? About everything I write has a purpose.. this one being that I want to look back at this and laugh HARD. Just like whatever it is you're going through in your life. If your a visual type of person, grab a piece of paper and jot down everything that you do that isn't helping you progress at all.
Here is an Example (And Yes this is true):
- I procrastinate way too much
- I turn to Video Games for comfort when things get too frustrating
- I buy in to products I have a great feeling will work, but don't have the motivation to keep going
- I love the idea of making money, but at times don't see all the hard work that needs to be done..thus losing focus
- I complain a bit too much about my situation at times and don't do anything to change it.
As you can see above, this is my list of things of all the negative things that gets me in trouble as far as making money and living free. I have something similar sitting on my wall so no matter what I have to see it. Seeing that makes me want to change what I am doing. Another thing I do is have a weekly goal sheet where I write down all the things I need to accomplish by the end of the week. It helps to bring that focus back to what you are doing in the first place, and that is to make money and live free. Now that may not be your goal, but to most that is a key issue.
Final Thoughts of the Battered Newbie:
I was feeling some type of way when writing this from start to finish. Even when writing this I was hoping back n forth between Facebook and Twitter because I found more interest in seeing what others were doing opposed to writing this. But it wasn't towards the middle I had a message to convey to anyone who is fortunate enough to read this.. and I just stopped going back to those Social media sites. The lesson I want to get across is to help people. We all go through things in our lives and I just want people to relate and motivate him to do more in their lives. I want that "I read this and it motivated me to do this and that" kind of feeling to flow through people. I hope this Article helps people and helps them improve.
Hello IZero. Man you remind me so much of my old self! I changed my life by simply starting to see all the good in it instead of the bad! Do not focus on your shortcomings! Think about all that is wonderful about you! You seem like a great guy that just can't get it together (same as I was) but by thinking about the good things, YOU can change that! YOU create YOU What you think about you bring about! Hope this helps, feel free to check out some of my articles about the topic! :)
I will be sure to check out your writings and see ;o but as far as myself.. I know. It's like.. I know I am destined to be something big.. to help people in some shape way form or fashion.. but I'm still wondering what. Some say I'm an inspirational speaker, others think I should become a writer, another said I should become an artist... and it's like woah slow down I can't be all these lol. Actually another said I should go pro with gaming.. but again.. too much stuff thrown at me @_@. I dunno...I just want to reach a point where money doesn't become much of an issue and I'm free to do as a please. As a friend once told me "You can become happy by helping others feeling the same way. Happy people = productivity, and having productive people means you feel you have done something with your day, generally making you happy and able to reach new heights in whatever you do"...or something along those lines ;p
It is important to know what you want, but you also got to believe in your dreams! Pick a goal and work towards that, don't let anybody write your story! When you finally reach that goal, stop, analyze & set a new goal! if you have many goals that's cool! Just take them all in chunks. Do a list of what you want most and work towards those, one by one. Again don't let anybody tell you what to do or what you have to be. Hope you sort it out, looking forward for updates on goals you set! :)
I've been exactly where you are at and it is definitely frustrating. I still haven't gotten to where I want to be yet but I have learned so much in the process. I understand now to take things a day at a time and not buy into all the "quickest path possible" hype. Great article, very inspiring.
That is something I have to come into terms with myself. People ask so many things like "are you making money etc etc etc" and I can only reply with no for right now. And it sucks having to do that for a while. BUT.. I know that day will come when I'm making a nice sum of money to be comfortable, and they will turn around and ask me for the quickest way to get what I got lol. Just.. have to put in the hard work now.. and assemble a team ;P
Good info iZero...Internet marketing takes time to develop into a profitable business and the first few months can be the hardest..Thanks
Hi iZero, just a thought but why don't you change the list of negatives you have into a list of positives. I think I would feel a little down too if I had a list like that on my wall :) 1) I'm starting to procrastinate less and taking one small action step a day 2) I'm turning to video games less often for comfort 3) I'm starting to look back at the products I've bought and am doing a small amount each day to keep my motivation going. 4) I'm starting to see all the hard work that needs to be done and am regaining focus 5) I'm complaining less often about my situation and doing small things to change it. 6) I'm doing the best I can in my current situation and am feeling proud of the accomplishments I've already achieved. These Include: 1 I've already written 17 articles 2 Seventy people like those articles 3 There are 28 people interested in the things I write about etc etc.......make the list as long as you can, look at it every day and keep adding to it!
This is true lol. You know I didn't even see all that till just now when reading it. Thanks Penny you motivated me a little ;p I figured by seeing the negative things, you can visually see them and motivate you to change them, to making positive list such as this and keep it going =) But that did give me another idea, thanks!!
I can see myself in many of these points. It has certainly made me think. Thank you.
Great Points! Straight Forward Points! 1) List of negative things that gets me in trouble as far as making money and living free. 2) Weekly Goal Sheet I appreciate the Re-Focus, iZero... Thanks!
Thank you kindly, I just wanted to make sure this motivates someone :D As far as the Negative listing goes, it only serves as a motivational tool. It's 1 thing.. but as Penny Black pointed out, you turn those into positives later, but it's important to see what's holding you back in order to remove them and have nothing but positive things working for you ^_^
