Solar Energy Systems For Your Home | Electricians London Give Tips

It has been estimated that over the next 70 years the world supplies of fossil fuel will have been used up. Not only are they not replaceable, but by using them we actually contribute to the pollution of the atmosphere and the global worming. Therefore, it is no big surprise that when it comes to improving the energy-efficiency of their home, many home owners turn to solar energy.

According to electricians in London, there are two types of solar systems that could be installed, in order to reduce the energy consumption of the household – solar systems with photovac cells and solar systems with panels that convert it into heat. The first type produces energy that could be used to supply your household appliances with electrical power. Photovac cells consist of multiple layers of semi conducting material. When they are exposed to the sun light, an electric field is created that causes the electricity to flow.

However, the intensity and the consistency of the flow depends on how much sunlight there is. Therefore, these solar panels are more suitable for regions with warmer climate. If you are not sure whether you will benefit form adding a photovac solar system to your household, you can check the solar radiance maps for your region for the past 12 months.

On the other hand, producing solar thermal energy is a less complicated process that heats water and stores it in a tank for later use. The water is either pumped or flows through the solar panels. The water heated by the solar panels could stay warm for about 24 hours. In addition, plumbers London claim that the solar system could be connected directly to your water heater, which would then act as a storing tank.

This will allow you to use the water for showers and baths and, in the same time, will help you reduce your home electrical bill – as you know pretty well the water heater is one of the main power consumer amongst your household appliances. Furthermore, it will save you space since you wouldn't actually have to install a tank for hot water storage.

A solar system is a great way to harvest sun power and convert it into an energy source for your household, claim electricians in London. You can save up to 50 % on your home electrical and gas bills. Even though the initial price for a solar system is quite high, in the long run it will pay off. Additionally, the European Union offers rebates and tax incentives that will help reduce the overall cost of a solar energy system. However, the maintenance of such a system requires that you have a yearly check up by handyman in London, in order to prevent any fatal failures.
