Living With A Smartphone

With the seemingly limitless usability of smartphones, the popularity of the device is ever growing. Being a modern life must-have, it has made an irreplaceable space in our pockets. If you find yourself without it on your regular day- may god help you! From the important contacts at work or elsewhere to the schedule of your daily activities, it holds the key to all. I mean, how many of us actually remember the numbers we dial every day? And the pin code to our bank accounts or passwords to our mails? Why bother memorizing numbers or any other information when you can have it stored in your personal device within a few seconds and conveniently reach it anytime you desire? It is not advisable though due to security issues as it may lead to unauthorized access to your sensitive data.

A smart phone is your savior against boredom. Whether you are waiting for the bus to work or back home, expecting a friend to arrive, having a short break in between daily chores or simply having nothing to do, you almost automatically reach for your mobilephone. It is your personal entertainer anytime, anywhere. Also, you want a list of the best restaurants or other happening places nearby; you need not call a friend in the locality. Just ask your phone and you not only get your answers; you may even reserve a seat or two for yourself in advance.

Getting the latest and the best smart phone is gradually becoming a necessity. The fascination to own the latest and the best is so compelling that some of us even make sacrifices on the essentials to possess it before our peers do. And here’s the thing with phones these days. The latest smartphones do not remain the latest for too long. Sooner or not so later, it is succeeded by an even more advanced phone to become the latest drawing all the attention that the previous one benefitted. As we can never have enough of technology, the craze for the latest phones is overwhelming.

The downside of using smartphones is the development of obsessive behaviors among the users. Frequently checking for messages or mails on your phone is almost a custom many phone users would relate to. It meddles with our focus on the job at hand and wastes our time without our knowing. We have become so much dependent on smartphones that when we want to check the time, we now reach for the phone instead of simply turning our wrist to have a glance on the wrist watch.
