Well to me the answer is pretty obvious. The best kids movies are always the ones that you yourself don't actually mind watching. Because you just know whether its a Finding Nemo or Monsters inc. (My daughters favorite movies), the discs are going to be put on repeat for the rest of their child hood. So why not enjoy it somewhat rather then just getting annoyed by it.
This applies to not only movies tho, same principle goes for cartoons as well. I try to encourage my kids to watch classic cartoons like Smurfs, Bugs Bunny and Astro Boy. Cartoons I use to watch whilst I was a little fella. This makes it more bearable to watch over and over again and much easier to relate to. Kind of like reliving your child hood in a way, and does bring back some memories too.
In my opinion, i find that some of the cartoons kids watch these days are just too far out there, but maybe that's just me and Im becoming an old fuddy duddy,
When it comes to what my kids watch I guess I cant have it all my way, I'm not that mean, hehe. I must admit that some of the new kids movies are actually quite good.
Like the recent Smurfs Movie, was a hit in my household, or was that only because its an old school cartoon, hmm. Anyways its a popular kids movie and rather popular amongst the parents also, so Im safe here.
The Shrek movies are a great example of top kids movies, for the fact it has some adult humor in it which keeps the parents interested and laughing along the way.
Pixar seems to have pumped out a large amount of titles, which to me are some of the best children animated movies i have seen. But for some reason Toy Story isn't much of a hit in my household, its a classic and I just don't understand why it isn't so interesting to my kids, oh well.
Having kids movies that you and your kids can enjoy makes for a great way to interact and bond with your children more and more and more the more times you watch the movie together.
So saying this, to me there isn't a list of the best kids movies, rather moments of growing a stronger relationship with your children through media, that is until they tell you your too old for cartoons.
