Of course, art does not have to come as a kit in order to be fun. Children can express their imagination by using crayons, markers, scissors and glue on all types of paper materials.
Another fun and rewarding indoor activity is creating items using baker's clay. This is a simple modeling dough made by combining flour, salt and water. The molded items can be placed on a baking sheet and baked to make them hard. After they have cooled, they can be painted to finish the project. This is a great way for kids to create decorative ornaments using cookie cutter shapes. Other seasonal art projects include making Valentine mailboxes out of empty tissue boxes and Thanksgiving turkeys out of paper plates. Kids can make many interesting art projects using a few household items and lot of imagination.
