Today I want to focus on a method of making money from the Internet that, although it can take a lot of work without any guarantee of making money, it has an amazing amount of potential that is realized by those who put in the effort and keep on putting in the effort. This is where you make up a short ad and pay for each time someone clicks through to a merchant's site. I really suggest you learn about this before you try it. This is a good way to lose a lot of money fast. The key is to come up with a search phrase (keyword) that someone who is ready to buy will use to search for what you are promoting. In other words, the reason so much money is lost so quickly with this is that most people clicking through these ads are curious and do not spend their money, but you still get charged for the click.

The best way for someone to make money online, in my opinion, is article marketing. This form of affiliate marketing is where you write articles and publish them on article writing websites like ezinearticles or streetarticles and send potential customers to the merchant or your website so they can be presented with a buying opportunity. If they buy, the merchant pays you for the successful sale. The articles are free to post and they stay there indefinitely, so you can write a bunch of articles and have them basically sending you money. It's too cool.

What Merchants?

You can go to Clickbank and find a bunch of them, but you can also go to almost any other business and see if they have an affiliate program. There is even an affiliate program for Wal-Mart. It is up to you, then, to decide what interests you, find a retailer within your specialty (ideally), and join their affiliate program. Then you market for them by writing articles to bring them customers.

That Sounds Kind of Easy, but Kind of Not

That is about the size of it. It is not terribly complicated but there is a bit to learn so you do it right and don't waste a lot of effort. As another affiliate marketer I know said, “If you do for a year what others won't do, you will be able to do for the rest of your life what others cannot do.” That about sums it up.
