It is on the news in the newspaper, it is up front and center on every one’s mind every day, the economy. Europe is in trouble or beyond being in trouble, at the brink of the Euro crashing; how far will those ripples will be felt.
In 2008, the stock market took one of the worse nosedives since the crash of 1929; we all know how that turned out.
It’s now 2012 and Europe is ripe for failure and the United States sits on the edge and could go either way, even China the world’s economic savour have slowed down in growth. What will the world do, where do we go now to make a buck?
The world sits at the brink of yet another financial disaster; no economy will escape its wrath. Counting four years now with no real solution or end in sight, the human factor is getting worse month after month.
It is no wonder the economy is on everyone’s mind, how can’t it be, it is attached directly to your everyday living.
Not so long ago the environment was front, center, and seemed to be a big issue that involved everyone on the planet rich or poor.
Climate change is it really happening, does smoking give you cancer, of course, it is and it does. The naysayers on climate change would argue anything at any time just for the sake of being an ass. In the scientific world there is no wondering is it happening and is man a big part of the problem, not my opinion but fact, it is happening and we are a big part of the problem, with no real solution.
Climate change is only part of our environmental problems that will affect our world, the list goes on and all will have an epic effect overall on the planet in a negative way. How do the sands of the Sahara Dessert affect the rain fall in the Amazon, it is all connected, the earth is one big puzzle that does not work so well with pieces missing.
As you can see it is not just climate change that is affecting our environment we use and abuse almost every aspect of our environment for our own selfish desires, we call it progress. As the emissions, we spew out of our factories and combustion engines add Co2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Taking from the planet and not giving back is interrupting the way the earth works, if this was happening to humanity we would fight back would we not, instead here we are the takers, with nothing to give back but more suffering on mankind, progress, oh really.
The earth is fighting us on all fronts, as we spew more CO2 into the atmosphere, rip her up, and take her resources in again in the name of progress and the all mighty dollar.
I would like to leave this article in giving all something to think about, hoping all will give it some real thought the next time they are going to throw something out or only use it once or leave their vehicle running as they run into the store.
There are no easy answers for the dilemma that the world faces both in the financial world and on the environment front.
As hard as it would be to see the world economy crash to the point of no return and the life changes that we would all occur. Without the environment, there would be no economy or a real need for an economy. The way we humans live our lives depends 100% on the environment and is directly proportional to the way we treat our mother earth.
We only have one world people and we treat it as if we have a few spares stashed away somewhere.
Economy vs environment is nicely presented. Indeed we are stewards of the planet who are not doing an especially good job. Whether global warming is from "us" or from wider swings than we've recorded we're surely damaging the environment. Here's to walking for transportation!
If we all did a few things think of how easy it would be....thanks Cynthia
Thanks Shawn we need change in so many ways, but again without a livable environment every thing else is just secondary isnt it....
How right you are Tim, the people of the world are slowly committing mass suicide, most without realising it. with big business killing the economy and man killing the environment, we have at this moment very little chance... now is the time to take everything back into the hands of those that care and not those couldn't give a damn....
If the good and righteous alwalys got what was right, that would be great, but we both know does not work that way much any more, not reallly sure when all this started to get on the fast train that can;t be stopped but it sure seems faster year after year injustice on all fronts every where you turn....stop and think I am sure you can think of a few more injustices that take place on a daily basis with little or no media or a damn from anyone...wonder why.....money money and some more money....one day money will mean nothing, gardeners will be the new top of the heap....will the future survive the present????
God I hope it survives Tim, I'm not ready to give up yet... but just finished reading an article where the US high court turned over a injunction placed against Monsanto, I just wonder why they bother with the lower courts.. why not just go direct to the top...
