Uranium - An Unforgiving Source of Power! We're all well aware of the dangers that nuclear power plants present should they become unstable, damaged or compromised and leak radiation into the atmosphere, as well as the impact an incident will have on the people and animals living in the surrounding areas. However, that should be the least of our concerns when it comes to nuclear power because the dangers begin at the uranium mines long before it ever reaches the nuclear plants. Then the radioactive waste that's removed from these nuclear plants continues to be radioactive for millions of centuries after being disposed. In the late 70's nuclear power plants were said to be incredibly cheap to operate but this new power source would turn out to be the deadliest so called solution for the world’s energy demands.
The economic costs, when calculating the ecological and human heath debilitation caused by radioactive debris is estimated to be more than all the natural disasters around the world combined since the beginning of time. We have only scratched the surface of realizing the devastating destruction that this silent killer Uranium has had and will continue to have even if we ceased using it this very day. In addition, the mining of uranium reflects a grave violation toward human value and the destruction of the Eco system is thought to be one of the most selfish uses of technology known to mankind.
The marketing of this idea, at the expense of the tax payers, was so hyped up in depicting that the pros of nuclear power far outweighed the cons but nothing could've been farther from the truth. The manufacturers and miners of uranium foresaw the real long term dangers but the corporate agenda's that have monopolized our country pushed the use of uranium as an alternative source of energy for no other reason than financial greed. Statements made by the initiators of nuclear power were endorsed by our leaders and while the people were blindly led to believe that there were no other energy alternatives that were affordable to service the masses was yet again, far from the truth. . . In fact while investors and electric companies rake in the proceeds from supplying power via nuclear energy the tax payer continues to pay for the use and for the damages caused by this 'unforgiving' source of power.
The mining of Uranium, this so called inexpensive source of energy, pollutes the waters and soil for hundreds of square miles around the mining sites and emits 140 million tons of radioactive tailing out in the open just in the US alone. And for every Tonne the US exports, it creates hundreds of tonnes of radioactive waste, 666 Tonnes of Radio Active Tailings Waste to be exact! It doesn't take a mathematician to figure the irreparable costs of this non-renewable energy. Today US citizens know that the energy derived from uranium is no benefit to us at all considering the payoff. But by the same token most people are asking, "What other choice do we have?" In light of the outrages price tags placed on solar panels and wind turbines there's no doubt that there has been a smoke screen covering up the simplicity of instillation and material cost of "renewable energy sources' as well.
We have had four choices for natural organic solar energy available for better than 5 decades, yet, more than 85% of the population still rely on electric companies to provide power sourced by nuclear reactor plants because the masses have been led to believe that solar energy is financially out of reach. . .Again, nothing could be farther from the truth.
To enjoy the security of Solar, Wind, Water and Organic energy does not take an Einstein or Benjamin Franklin to construct or install them. It simply takes an electrician with a heart for humanity who saw a need for such guidance.
The materials can be bought for under $300-$500 depending on the size of your home. How to DIY tutorial conversion guides for Solar Power and Wind Turbines are wise choices and our only hope if we plan to support our environment and stop the destructive trend that is holding our renewable energy sources hostage.
