Prepare to Survive Now, Not Later

Why not prepare now?

Why is it that so many people fail to see the warning signs of what is going on in our country (and world) and refuse to prepare? There are a lot of reasons why they do not prepare, but looking at how simple it is to prepare might shed some light on it.

The fact is this: In order to be prepared, you don't need to be rich or retired. You could have a simple bag with simple items in it. Instead of opting for a $400 maxpedition pack, you could get a cheaper Condor compact assault pack. Instead of purchasing $100 worth of freeze-dried food, you could purchase some cheaper 3,600 calorie bars from mainstay or datrex. Instead of purchasing a $150 water filter form Katadyn, you could instead pay less than $40 for a Sawyer water filter. Rather than saving up for an AR-15 or M1A rifle, you opt for a cheaper SKS rifle.

The point is this: There ARE things you COULD be doing right now. These things that you could be doing are inexpensive and will not break the bank. By shopping smart, reading reviews on many different items and using a little bit of judgment, you can save money and prepare on a budget very easily and be just as prepared as someone who spent literally hundreds of dollars of inexpensive gear.

You don't have to quit your day job, either. It is very simple to learn how to build shelter and create fire. Reading up on a straight forward prepping website on learning some simple skills will save you a lot of time and money. Taking some safety and basic operating classes on operating a HAM radio or sufficiently utilizing a firearm will save you time, money and will allow you to learn from a professional, rather than a weekend keyboard warrior on the Internet.

Please consider some of these words here. I write not to be a "know it all", but I write to honestly provide you with a "call to action" The more people who are prepared, the less desperate people will be when a disaster or emergency strikes. And keep in-mind, this is in fact inevitable. There is no reason to not try and be prepared right now. You don't need the Mercedes of preps, all you need is enough to survive, which is the ultimate goal.

Summary

I want to instill the idea that there is literally no excuse not to be prepared for an emergency. There are many ways to be prepared. If you're a beginner wondering how to start prepping, ask someone who knows or consider searching for a website that is knowledgeable and straight forward about prepping.

Be safe. Prepare, thrive and survive in the face of all future emergencies, no matter what the cost.
