20 Minute Kettlebell Workouts

One of the reasons I have fallen in love with Kettlebells is their versatility. Whether you want a long one hour workout, or are just looking for a short 20 minute workout, you can do so knowing that you will be getting a decent exercise for your body regardless of the amount of time. This is due to both the power and technique used in either long or short workouts.

In this article I am going to discuss some of the things that should be used in a short workout routine, and also point you in the direction of some great kickboxing programs.

What Sort Of Exercises Are Best For Short Workouts?

Because Kettlebells can be used in such a wide range of exercises, you can tweak your regime to get the maximum potential out of your time. No matter if you are going for firm, toned muscles, calorie burn and weight loss, or just plain fitness, you can do all of this by going along with the following:

  • Perform aerobic exercises, such as swings or windmills, while using one or two Kettlebells.
  • Make sure to do an adequate warm-up so you don't over do it
  • Perform activities that are designed especially for the Kettlebell to get maximum potential
  • Keep up a high level of activity during your workout. Short and sweet is best.

If you bear those things in mind while you perform your exercises, you will do well and will be able to fit in a decent routine no matter how busy your day is.

Ready-Made Routines

I would also recommend that you investigate some ready-made routines. By this I mean exercise routines designed by experts explicitly for short workouts. Here are the two that come the most highly recommended.

1.) Kettleworx.

Kettleworx has been around for a little while now and is growing in popularity. Their workout session is less than 30 minutes long which is just what we are looking for. It is also the case that the Kettleworx DVD achieves good results and its popularity will only increase in future.

One negative I would have to say about the Kettleworx routine is that some of the exercises are a bit intensive on the back. I also feel that it doesn't utilize the full potential of the Kettlebell.

2.) Kettlebell Kickboxing For Women.

Like Kettleworx, this is a program quickly growing in popularity and most of the classes were sold out. The new DVD has already sold copies in the thousands and will only go on to sell more. It has the option of a 25 minute or 60 minute workout, so again is right up our alley.

I feel this one does utilize the full potential of the Kettlebell and what's more it is a cheaper program than Kettleworx, so would get my overall recommendation.

Why Use A "Ready-Made" Routine?

Simply because, if you just want to do a short and sweet routine, it is most likely because you are short on time or do not want to exercise too intensely or for too long. Either way, by benefiting from expert advice you are able to not only save time (you can just stick in the DVD and off you go), but you can also make sure you are still exercising to your fullest and not sacrificing quality in exchange for time.
