Does Crossfit Give Women Bulky Results?

Crossfit's intense approach to fitness (Cross training) is used equally by both men & women, but in regards to women, a common question arises quite often: Does Crossfit give women bulky results? The answer is generally no, but it depends on which workouts you do. So here you'll find out just how to avoid those bulky results (unless that's what you're going for ladies!).

The rule of thumb for avoiding bulkiness in this program is generally this: Avoid doing workouts that involve heavy weight lifting, that's it. Although it's hard to dodge in Crossfit, being that many of their workouts involve weight lifting, there are still many workouts in this program that provide lean results. In fact if you look at the most fit women who do this program, they are all ripped and there is little bulkiness on their bodies.

Another important factor is the fact that you're cross training, and most people who do such workouts usually get lean results. Why? Because you're not exclusively sticking to one type of workout, you keep switching to new ones many times during a session of Crossfit, which means as you switch to new workout, you will be working new muscles and not spending too much time on specific ones, meaning results will not have time to bulk up. In short, you're safe.

But you also have to keep in mind that in order to get results and avoid bulkiness, you must also diet properly while doing this program. It just so happens that how you eat determines the outcome of your workout more than the workout itself. Yeah it's that important! Make sure to eat a protein meal after each workout to help the body recover properly.

Here's also another very important note: Just because this program does not usually give bulky results does not mean it's ideal. It actually happens to be very intense and really only beneficial for those who are already in shape and wish to challenge themselves. Outside that realm, you will get results from this program, but you're also likely going to encounter a lot of injuries and breaking point/s from your body.

If you're a woman interested in doing this program, ask yourself this: Am I prepared to get the body I want via extreme measures? Because that's what this program will make you do. If you aren't in good shape to begin with or even in relatively good shape, you'll still have a hard time doing this workout.

This isn't meant to deter you away from this program, but rather point out that reaching your fitness potential does not have to come at the cost of your health. For example, if you want to look amazing and fit, why not try kettlebell training?

Kettlebells are incredible fitness tools that are ideal for women because their design works multiple muscles in the body and accelerates results if you're doing the proper exercises. To put it simply: If you want to look very sexy and need a fitness program to do so, try kettlebell training. It'll get the job done, without the expense of your health!
