How To Choose The Best Running Shoes

There are lots of things that factor into choosing the right running shoe for you. First off, everybody has different feet, which require different shoes. So, you need to determine what type of arch you have in your feet, and find the shoes that match them. And don’t forget to factor in price and style!

Do you know why there are so many different types of running shoes? It’s because every person’s feet are a little bit different. Some are flat, some are arched, some long, and some short. So for every different foot, there is a shoe. So when you go shopping for running shoes, you have to find what will work for you. What might work for you might not work for someone else because they have different feet, and vice versa. So keep that in mind while you look for shoes.

One thing I wanted to stress is price. DO NOT spend over $80 for a pair of running shoes! It is a complete waste of money! You can get a perfectly good pair of shoes on sale for $40-$70. The reason you don’t want to spend big bucks on them is because after you run so many miles in them, they need to be replaced. So you could get a $40 pair of shoes twice, for the price of an $80 pair once. The higher the price doesn’t necessarily mean the higher the quality of the shoe.

For a shoe to BE good for you, it must FEEL good on you. So once you pick the right size and style, with a reasonable price of course, try on your shoe. Walk around in the store and make sure it feels good on you. Make sure your toes aren’t pinched and that your heel doesn’t slip out every time you step. If it feels really funny, then you probably don’t want that shoe. Keep trying on shoes until you find the one for you.

What kind of arch do your feet have? To find out what type of feet you have, you can try the wet test. You basically get the bottom of your feet wet and leave a footprint on a brown paper bag. This simple test can show you whether you have flat feet, medium arched feet, or high arched feet. Where medium arched feet are normal for most people, feet with high arches are rare.

So, now you know how to find the right running shoe for you. First thing you look at is price. Then you look at some nice styles that you like. Try on the shoes, see that they fit, and there you go. Congratulations, you just found yourself some running shoes!
