One of my favorite items to use when it comes to my exercise routine has to be the jump rope. You do not need a jump rope, but maybe after reading you will at least consider purchasing one if you do not have one already.
Jump ropes are light weight and you can store then easily in your closet after all that is where I keep mine. I started jumping rope because they are pretty cheap and I do not have to wonder if I am going to use it or not.
I jump rope as a warm up before my workout routines and sometimes after as a cool down. Jumping rope is simple and fun so I do not have a problem taking three to five minutes getting my heart rate up.
You have probably use a jump rope a few times in your life and if not that is okay. When you consider jumping rope there are some things that you should know. You do not need to spend large amounts of money buying some high tech jump rope, I think you should be fine if you purchase a jump rope for under five bucks. When choosing a jump rope you need one that will be the best size for you. Start by standing in the center of the jump rope bringing the handles to your arm pits. This is the best way to choose a jump rope and if it is boxed before you buy it try it. It's not going to take much time and you never really know until you see for yourself.
I find myself tripping on my own feet while I jump rope and this is definitely a bad thing. Not only could you fall while you are jumping rope you will start disliking jumping rope if you often getting your feet tangled with your rope.
For something that you can do in under five minutes I would say it is worth learning how to jump rope properly. There is a proper way to jump rope? No way, but yes there is a simple guide you want to use when jumping rope. You should jump from the balls of your feet and know that while you are jumping your heel should not touch the ground. Never jump flat footed because that can be bad on your knees. And speaking of your knees when you are jumping rope your knees should be slightly bent and remember not to lock your knees.
