Insanity is a fitness workout program with intense exercises which are designed to target different muscles. Shaun Thompson created this program and is offering ten DVDs with some insane high-intensity interval training routines. Rather than doing short intervals of high-intensity exercises along with longer and moderate ones, you would go up to several notches with this program. Read on to know more as some useful information is provided below to give you an idea of what to expect when starting Insanity workout.

First, you should know that Insanity workout might not be you. You must be in a good physical condition if you want to use this program. It’s also important to have determination because the Insanity exercises will require a lot of working out. You should forget about this program if you are one those persons who give up easily and is not too keen on doing hard work. Don't start the Insanity program if you 50 age and older and out of shape. A lot of it will depend on your body type, fitness level and age. So, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor before starting this fitness program.

What to Expect When Starting Insanity

The program is designed for you to start off with a fitness test. There is an introductory DVD included in the package with a thirty minute fitness test. You can keep a piece of paper and pen handy to write down the results from the test.

If you are working out for the first time in a long while, you should not expect to keep up during the first few weeks. This program is extremely fast-paced, so it’s difficult for many people even those in good shape. You should prepare to stop the video during workout because you will need to take lots of breaks.

The workout package has DVDs for the first month and these include 40 minutes of pure cardio and 20 minutes of cardio abs. It will start out extremely hard and get even harder as you move from one video to the next. In fact, you might not complete all the moves in the first month.

Now, the exercises in the second month are even more intense as there are DVDS with max interval circuit workout for 60 minutes and 55 minutes of max interval plyometrics. Be sure to finish the exercises for month one before starting the second month. Naturally, you will get real hungry when doing the insanity workout so you need to follow the nutrition plan that is provided.

As long as you follow the exercise guidelines, stick to the nutrition plan and work at your own pace to build up stamina, you can expect optimal results.

Hopefully, the information above is enough to help you understand what to expect when starting Insanity workout. Once you are willing to do the hard work, you can get good results. The program is recommended for men and women who want to lose the extra pounds and get a healthier and leaner body.
