Mixed Martial Arts Training

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA Training as I will now be referring to it, is a combination of several different styles of inflicting pain on baddies. The main styles used are Judo, Jujitsu, Boxing, Wrestling and Muay Thai the latter of which I have had a little experience in and even won a few regional tournaments as a youngster.

The more observant will have noticed I said youngster and as a confession to you admit to being a bit lacking in the exercise department of late, and as I enter my early thirties the thought has hit me of how to keep fit.

To be perfectly honest the closest thing I do to exercise is getting out of my bed or begrudgingly having to go back upstairs because I forgot my phone, and having been the typical "sporty type" really should know better (naughty, naughty boy). As I enjoyed the competition of fighting as a kid and was definitely loads fitter then, I decided to get myself off to the local gym where I thought MMA training classes and workouts would be available, and to my delight there was a plethora of people there ready and waiting to beat me up.

Obviously already being a black belt in (ahem) Ka-ra-te, I approached this as a professional, but it soon hit me how out of shape I was and how much I was in need of this MMA training programme, I mean it's been around twenty years since I last did any of this crap (yes I had my black belt at the age of ten deal with it).

Although it can be hard work (I'm not trying to say this is a get fit quick scheme or anything) and any of the people out there who don't like the sound of being "smacked upside tha head" (pansies) a MMA training programme is really worth it and if you really DON'T wanna get stuck in, a dose of circuit training will soon sort out that Christmas and new year flab.

There's 101 ways to keep fit and healthy these days, many are tedious and laborious (for people under 25 that means "nuff crap") and keeping yourself fit shouldn't feel like a chore, with a mixed martial arts training programme this isn't so at all, and I remember with love now why as a child I couldn't get enough. Not only are you learning a skill that could save your life but also potentially gaining a new circle of friends, a circle of friends that I wouldn't mind going to the city/town with and hoping somebody nicks your pint (children I do not condone violence, violence is bad).
